Hello All:

I wonder if anyone here would know of a source of quality statues. By “quality,” I mean statues that are nicely painted, and cast in traditional poses. Oh…and not to terribly expensive.

I am looking for an 18 inch statue of the Blessed Mother, to go with my Sacred Heart statue. I have spent quite a bit of time looking through what is offered on-line, and to be honest, so much seems to be tacky. Either the painting of the statues is juvenile, or Mary is cast in a free spirit pose, looking to me as if she is about to dance the watusi across wherever she is placed!

Sorry to sound disrespectful, but I am tired of looking through page after page of offerings that to me do not pay proper respect to Our Lady (and don’t inspire my heart to lofty thoughts).

I really would be grateful for any leads that you might be able to provide. Thanks loads.

Joe

WOW! Such great ideas!

I went straight to Leaflet Missal, and found exactly what I have been looking for for ages, the Medieval Madonna & Child. This will match my Sacred Heart/Christ the King statue. Photo is included.

Thanks you so very much!

Do any of you know how to get a St. Jerome statue? Does anyone make them?

I have exactly the opposite problem that Joe had. I have a lovely Our Lady of Grace statue that I am trying match to an 18 inch Sacred Heart Statue. I want to get the Sacred Heart statue for my mom and dad for Christmas- the one they have now is chipped and only 12" so it looks funny next to the 18" Lady of Grace. Trouble is, I’ve been searching the web for hours and have only come up with 2 18" Sacred Hearts, but I didn’t like them because the statues looked plastic (not like real people). Does anyone have a nice 18" Sacred Heart and can you let me know where you got it? at this point I would even consider buying one from overseas if I could order it via internet
thanks so much
Margie
