So I’m not sure if anyone here watches South Park, but it’s one of my favorite shows, and I’m absolutely loving this new season so far. The school shooting episode is among their best in the last few seasons (though “Put it Down” still is the best from the last few), and I could barely stop laughing during “The Problem with Poo” and think it’s the best Mr. Hankey episode yet. Their recent vaping episode is probably the weakest for me, but even then I was glad to see Towelie return for some hilarious bits.

Obviously, the second episode, “A Boy and a Priest”, would probably be the most topically relevant here. I was actually a bit concerned about it considering South Park and religion can be really hit or miss, and I remember Catholicism always being a big miss for them. However, I really liked the episode. Of course, it does have South Park’s humor, and I know some Catholics have already voiced strong displeasure about it, but I still found the overall episode hilarious and a better tackling of the subject than the last couple times they tried.

Yeah it’s humor, sometimes offensive, sometimes sarcastic, and so forth…

I must have watched a few episodes of the first season and that was it, back in the day. I thought it had been pulled of the air short afterwards, and I’m surprised it’s still ongoing (season 22, really?). Trent Parker does have a few intelligent moments but it just gets boring for me…

I saw John Oliver’s LastWeekTonight the first time a few days ago and I found it really funny and entertaining.

Personally, I’m not a huge fan of most of Seasons 1 - 4. I’ll watch them, but there’s not too many episodes I find myself wanting to watch. With the exception of Season 20, I find most of what came from Season 5 onward to be great, and the last one and what’s come so far from this one have offered some of my favorites in years.

I know many called for it to be. They even made an episode about the outrage in the first season.

It’s actually one of Comedy Central’s biggest shows.

There was a lengthy time in my life when I didn’t own a TV.

[Europeans don’t generally follow ‘seasons’, only so on occasion. That’s a very American format of things.]

What I was looking forward to, was again going into hermit mode with a strict discipline on my online consumption, which included cutting out any and all entertainment - even the odd youtube vid. That’s how I find time to get most of my reading done.

But I don’t want to be a hypocrite, I do enjoy certain programs and follow them on&off as time permits. 🙂 There’s a lot to be gained in observing other’s cultural consumption habits.

God bless.
