Sowing Seeds for Rewards

Recenty, I have caught preachers on the TV networks TBN and INSP talking something about sowing financial seeds in expectation of a blessing or a reward. One of these fellows even told television viewers to sow a seed equal to one month’s house payment or one month’s rent payment. He was saying that if a person does that, then they will get a debt free home. Dunno if it was the same broadcast, but it was the same fellow. He said that people would not be blessed by a meager home, but one that would make their enemies jealous.

I have seen the term “prosperity gospel”. I guess that’s what this is, but it just seems extreme.

What is the origin of this? If it has been discussed before, I apologize.
 
Tithing is one thing, this is another. The origen of this would be greed.😉

sounds to me like these “preachers” are the ones who will be getting the nice homes…yep, I agree, Greed is the root of this kind of preaching.
