Does anyone know of any Spanish-Latin missals sold for the Extraordinary Form of the Mass?
The English translation is no great bargain either. The Polish translation is much better.Just as a side question, has anyone else noticed that the Spanish translation of the Novus Ordo seems a little odd?
Actually, I don’t find it strange at all addressing God as Tu, that’s how Romance speakers did it when we were still speaking LatinHow’d I do (I’m still learning Spanish)
And to respond, it does seem strange that God is addressed using the “tu” form as opposed to the “Usted” form. Is this common in Romance languages when speaking to God? And it is also bizarre that the Sanctus or Agnus Dei is ever subsituted (an liturgical abuse, I’ll warrant)
There simply MUST be a publishing house in the US, Spain or Latin America that is publishing this…What if I wanted to get a nice, new, leather-bound spanish 1962 Daily Missal for my mom? Any ideas where I could find one? Are there any spanish publishers of the '62 missal in the U.S.?
I think she’d appreciate this as a Christmas present (along with a mantilla). She’s a charismatic, but I’m tryin’ to traditionalize her, and she seems open to it. She even went to a TLM with me and enjoyed it

Thanks for the link! Would you happen to know whether there’s anywhere with the propers of the Mass available in Spanish also?

Try ebay! When I was looking for mine, they had Latin-Spanish, Latin-French and some other languages. What if I wanted to get a nice, new, leather-bound spanish 1962 Daily Missal for my mom? Any ideas where I could find one? Are there any spanish publishers of the '62 missal in the U.S.?

Why didn’t I think of that!?!?!Try ebay! When I was looking for mine, they had Latin-Spanish, Latin-French and some other languages.
This does not happen at all NO Spanish masses. I’ve been to mass in Spanish even though I’m not fluent. It had all of the correct mass parts and was not charismatic. One time I went to Spanish daily mass for weeks because it fell partially across my adoration hour and the priest was from Mexico. Nothing was changed or left out. A couple of times I’ve been to the vigil liturgy in Spanish as part of a women’s retreat weekend. The priest is a very traditional monk, so I know no odd substitutions happened.I also don’t understand at all why they replace the Sanctus and Agnus Dei with other songs. It’s really sad because the Spanish-speaking priests tend to be very good homilists and I always learn alot from them but I simply can’t get used to Charismatic masses so I don’t even bother going to mass in Spanish anymore.
