Spanish Spirituality

Hello,

Basically looking for a good book recommendation. I was explaining English spirituality to a friend, and then we got on the subject of Spanish/ Hispanish Catholic spirituality. I’m looking for a book that is kind of a survey of Spanish theological/ spiritual outlook, and how that developed in the New World.

Look into books on the history of the Spanish Franciscans. They are the ones that brought the faith to the Western part of the US. Starting from the time of Hernan Cortez, I would think.
I’ll see what I have on the shelf…our ancestors came with the Franciscans, and my sister has done tons of research. Can’t think of any titles right now, too early.
