Free speech is not subject to your beleifs. That’s the day I leave America. It is not a good thing to have anything censored because a group objects to it. Look at it from the flip side. If you got a Christian rally shut down because these people said it was intolerant, you’d invoke “free speech” and “right vs. wrong.”
Well, as they say, what’s good for the goose…
Uh, who’s beliefs is it subject to? Of course it’s subject to my beliefs and anyone else’s beliefs. Give me a break. Where do you get this stuff? Again, it’s censoring if it goes against your beliefs and free speech if you’re for it. This is quite liberal of you! I have every right to protest how MY tax dollars are spent. You seem to fail to understand that little point.

And, as a Catholic, I have the right to demand that Catholic colleges don’t promote things contra to Catholic doctrine and the Catholic Church has the right to revoke their Catholic status if they do.

I don’t know if the original poster goes to a Catholic college. If He/She does, then I think that it is a bit odd they have this production. But if its a public/state run college, I don’t think that its at all uncommon for this show to be put on. She is well within her rights to boycott/protest it regardless.

I still think, since they are not going to shut down the production, that part of the plea should be for the proceeds to actually go to local organizations that help women of abuse. Even people who think this is the best show on earth will see the rational in that.

You have every right to protest. I was referring to the sentiments that if they shut it down because a Christian group disagrees with it, then it’s the saem as shutting a Christian rally down because, say, Buddhists disagree with it.

Please don’t get angry. I haven’t personally attacked you.
