As many of you know, St. Peter in Merchantville (Diocese of Camden) has a weekly TLM at noon on Sunday. The TLM is a High Mass from September through June. The special choral High Masses are new. Rev. Anthony J. Manuppella, Pastor of the church, has already conducted an instructional program on “Getting Ready for the Traditional Latin Mass”. I think the way the person worded the announcement may have wanted to make a difference between the regular parish choir that does the high mass there and a supplemented professional choir hired to help do these two particular masses. As I am not part of the parish and the goings on there, I am assuming that they were able to get some funding to hire a professional choir to help do these masses. I do know that some parishes do this for special masses, like Easter, Pentecost, Christmas, etc. as I’ve been hired to supplement or to be part of a hired quartet, etc. in various parishes. I just copied and pasted what was sent to me. There isn’t a difference between the two. This parish does only a High Mass from September to June because the parish choir is off during the summer, as most choirs are.

BTW - this parish is also doing the TLM on Ascension Thursday at 12 noon.
