Spending Easter

I am looking for some advice on not being able to spend Easter with my boyfriend, it kind of upsets me, we didn’t get to spend Christmas together since I went out of town and he of course was with his family (which is understandable) but I asked if he would go outta town for 2 days with me and my family (he knows everyone in my family and everyone gets along) but he wants to spend Easter with his family, but he also wants to spend it with me… what should I do? I know spending holidays its important to spend them with family, but my boyfriend to me is like family, so it kinda hurts when I wont be with him… any advice?

you’re his girlfriend, not his wife. he’s not obligated to leave his mother and father, not obligated to cleave to you yet.

you extended an invitation, not issued a summons. your boyfriend should be free to choose to spend the holiest of days with his family, without repercussion from you.

I agree. As much as your heart will ache to be with your boyfriend, try to enjoy the time that you have with your family. If you marry this man in the future, you will, God willing, have plenty of time to spend holiday’s with him. Your future time with your family may be dimished becasue of schedules, so just enjoy it.

His parents may be thinking the same thing. They know that their time to spend holidays exclusivly with their son may be limited. Don’t steal from them this precious time

BTW, I’m not saying you will never see them again on holiday’s if/when you get married, but it’s not always easy to schedule time with family & still make your own traditions that need to endure.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
