I was thinking about this while reading the Mormon funeral thread.

I was thinking about this while reading the Mormon funeral thread.

Answer?
I believe the answer to be: Because the Mormon Wedding is held in the Temple in which only “Temple Worthy” Mormons can enter.

So why isn’t a funeral for a temple-worthy Mormon held in their temple?

I have only heard of Mormon funerals being held at the regular
church buildings, not the temple. I am not sure about this though,
this is based on what I have heard from Mormon friends.

Mormon weddings can also be held in church buildings, because I have been to such a wedding. It occurs when one or both wedding persons are not eligible to enter the Temple.

As for myself, should I be invited and care to go, I would attend either/both. Those that cannot enter the Temple for a wedding are welcome to greet the married couple as they exit the Temple and then proceed to the reception.
