So I firmly believe that the eyes and ears are the windows to the soul, so for the most part I listen to Gregorian Chant, and classical music.

I’m trying to work out more at the gym and I think Id like something to really “pump,” me up.
I was contemplating some techno so long as it has no words or possibly some rock and roll instrumental.

What kind of power music are you guys listening too?

I like a little Daft Punk to help me work…Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. Oh, hey there’s a song about it! Da Funk also has a good, driving rhythm and I think it would be perfect for parkour but that might be the choreographer in me talking. 😉

I like a variety of styles including dance (Let’s Go by Calvin Harris feat. Ne-Yo) or alternative (Burn It Down by Linkin Park); the latter if I need to burn off angry, angsty stuff from work.

I’d probably go for some really swingy Jazz or perhaps some Dixieland… the sort of thing that just makes one’s feet move!

I don’t know how you feel about CCM outside the liturgy, but I like MercyMe.

Staying in CCM, Britt Nicole’s album “Gold” is a good one to work out to. Most of the songs are up-tempo.

Or you could get Amy Grant’s new dance remixes album that came out in August, “In Motion”.

I don’t particularly like listening to music while working out, don’t like carrying around the MP3 player and the ear phones. That being said, if I was going to listen to music it would be ‘epic music’. Instrumental with maybe a choir singing in the background, think movie score type stuff. You can look around on youtube to listen to some of it.

Audiomachine’s Sol Invictus,

Two Steps from Hell has some good stuff- Protectors of the Earth, False King, Black Heart, Black Blade, To Glory, For the Win, El Dorado

FWIW, I have a iPod shuffle. It clips to my clothing and it’s slightly larger than a quarter. If I position the cord correctly in the first place I don’t have to fuss with anything except skipping songs or changing playlists. Basically hands-free.
