When people are given a vision, do the spirits (especially Angels) manifest themselves physically (they have no bodies/souls) or do they manifest themselves in the minds of the visionary?

This falls within the branch of “mystical theology” and also “angelology”. There are many possible manifestations, and their various forms have been methodically studied though the centuries.

There is also a difference between “vision” and “apparition” and “locution”…

The cases I can remember had all physical forms…The case at Fatima had what appears a physical apparition of an angel at the begin and visions latter on, but I’m not completely sure if and where there is a clear boundary.

Looking at the Gospels I would say both. Gabriel appeared to Our Lady in a ‘physical form’, Joseph saw an angel in a dream. In my mind the angel sent to Jesus in the garden was also in a ‘physical form’. I use inverted commas as I’m wary of saying that the manifestation of such a being was physical in the way we might define it.

It’s my understanding that it varies. Your ability/permission to ‘see’ things is frequently proportional to your purity of soul/closeness to God. But it’s not a hard-and-fast rule… we all know the plural of “anecdote” isn’t “data”. 🙂

So for the Annunciation, that would be one level of interaction. For St. Joseph’s vision-in-a-dream, that would be a different level of interaction. For some, it might be an awareness of a Presence. For some, it might be hearing a message with your ears that no one else can hear. For others, it might be just a voice with a message while you’re asleep. Occasionally, you might run into someone who looks like an ordinary person… but when you think back on your interaction with them, you’re not quite sure. And so on and so forth.

Well, you might not agree with me considering I’m not technically a catholic. I’ve spent nearly a decade around angels every day. They can show themselves in dreams, visions, as inaudible voices, audible voices, as invisible presences, as visible presences here in the material world, and they can take physical, solid form, solid enough for you to shake their hand. They can also appear as solid human beings.

I generally see them as if the world has two parts, one psychic and one physical. The angels are visible, solid and audible in the “light world” which looks to me, as if it rides behind the physical world, like two transparencies on a projector.

Of course most catholics will probably say they aren’t angels, they’re demons and all that (haven’t heard THAT one before LOL) but that’s how they appear to me.

That said tho…I did once see Lucifer peel back the veil, grab a man and use him like a puppet to speak to me. So they can also posses living bodies.

When he is finished talking with your parole officer we will ask him. 😉

Easy way to figure out if they are demons…say “Blessed be Jesus!” and if they do not respond, or if they refuse to say the name of Jesus, they are demons. Many saints have done this and figured out right away who they were dealing with.

Also, another way to figure out if they are who they say they are is if you feel at peace when they leave. When demons appear in angelic forms, you will feel consoled at the moment but feel unusually depressed when they leave. When true angels or saints visit, you will feel possibly frightened at first, then consoled. This consolation also continues after they leave.

Excellent answer misstherese, I didn’t remember that…

I do this with my guides and angels often. They always pass 🙂 There are other tricks too. I often ask them to come into churches with me. You can ask them to step into Gods light and those that cant, you dont interact with. Ask them to pray the lords prayer with you. An angel will always agree. I often ask my guide to pray with me and he never refuses.

Funny you should say about being consoled…the other thing i’ve noticed is…angels bring help and messages that have a lasting, positive effect on your life which never fades. Demons/dark beings dont. Angels also tend to walk in and say, I am (insert name,) Don’t be afraid. I’m here to help you with this, or bring you that. They broadcast their intentions, then follow through while respecting your free will. They usually leave once the work is done. They’re unobtrusive and polite.

I have one angel who serves as my bridge for channelling and psychic work but he is an exception because he never leaves.

Angels can also be seen by their effect on your life. If their effect is wholly positive, and over time only good and love come of it, you can be fairly sure they are from God. I tend to judge them by the fruit they produce, so to speak.

Christians teachers do demonstrate this.

Blake Healy .wrote the book “the Vail” and has teaching seminars. On this.

There is a spiritual anointing when he teaches.

“Sure tell sign” we are dealing with a Kardecist !!!

Read these words which the Archangel St. Raphael spoke after his journey with Tobit:

Tobit 12:18-22
“As for me, when I was with you, I was not acting out of any favor on my part, but by God’s will. So bless God every day; give praise with song. 19 Even though you saw me eat and drink, I did not eat or drink anything; what you were seeing was a vision. 20 So now bless the Lord on earth and give thanks to God. Look, I am ascending to the one who sent me. Write down all that has happened to you.” And he ascended. 21 They stood up but were no longer able to see him. 22 They kept blessing God and singing his praises, and they continued to give thanks for these marvelous works that God had done, because an angel of God appeared to them.”

And some commentary from the Haydock Bible:

“. I. Greek, “I appeared to you all the days; yet I did not eat nor drink. But you beheld a vision.” (Haydock) — Having an aerial body, he made the provisions disappear, as the sun melts snow, Genesis xviii. 9. (Calmet) — He might swallow, though he had no need of meat, (St. Augustine, City of God xiii. 22.) or digestion, (Grotius) so as to convert it into his substance. (Menochius) — Men. I constantly enjoy the beatific vision, Matthew xviii. 10. (Calmet)”

Highly suggest Peter Kreeft’s work on Angels. His book is available at all of the usual places, you can pick it up used for a few dollars.

His website also has some good information Angels by Peter Kreeft

This author is not Catholic, his “ministry” is not something I would suggest. Best to stick with the teachings of Holy Mother Church.

Have you ever observed your angels in a Catholic Church? Especially at Adoration, or at Mass?? Because I think their response of awe and worship would standard, and that would be a marked contrast between that and a gathering place of other Christians, which is certainly highly respected by angels, but does not hold the True Presence, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity, of their Lord and King.

I am sure if you wanted to see their response to it,l they would show you. But I guess they would not violate your will if you truly did not want to see.

I grew a faith and spirituality of my own through contact with angels and God, I don’t identify with on faith or the other yet ad FYI though I’m a channel, I DON’T agree with getting all your guidance through mediums.

I am certainly NOT a Kardecist. I do NOT believe that one man alone has produced some sort of strange pseudo gospel people should follow in addition to the old and new testament.

I would NEVER do that, it would be irresponsible. One strange person writing about his personal beliefs does not divine revelation make. Neither am I (thank you very much) stupid enough to read someones personal spiritualism and make it my own. Good grief. For some reason I find that quite insulting. I mean, who does that? Reads a book written by some french spiritualist and goes…this is divine revelation, we should tag this onto the bible. How ridiculous.

I’d be more inclined to believe that humankind will find divine revelation in the future through merging all faiths or spiritualities. Or through revelation presented to multiple people.

This is such an obscure idea I had to go and google karcedism because I’ve never heard of it. It’s like the people who worship the guy who wrote the books about Nibiru.

And by the way, having a psychic gift does not mean you “summon spirits.” I’ve never done that in my life. I don’t need to. They come to me.

No family influence whatsoever. My entire family is non religious, non denominational and noone else has the psychic gift at the level I do that I know of.
