I recently attended a 3 day silent retreat for the Confraternity I am now an Associate Member of.

One of the programs being promoted at the retreat was the Spiritual Adoption of a Priest. I signed up for it while at the the retreat.

When I got home today, I has a packet from the Confraternity. Turns out it was the details on the Spiritual Adoption. The person assigned to me is not yet a priest, but one of the brothers of the Order associated with the Confraternity. He is currently a Seminarian (I am assuming he is at their seminary in Brazil).

Should be interesting and I am hoping for reports on his progress.

I am wondering if anyone else does Spiritual Adoptions like the one I am involved in?

Sounds interesting. I’ve never heard of this before. Let us know how things turn out.
God bless you.

I have decided to use at least my morning prayers for the seminarian. My normal Morning Prayers consists of:

  1. *]Office Reading (LOTH)
    *]Morning Prayer (LOTH)
    *]Chaplet of Divine Mercy.
The only prayer that was not included is my daily Consecration to the Holy Guardian Angels.

Thank you soooooooo much for posting this! I used to belong to Prayer Partners for Priests and have a several “adopted” priests and my husband and I pray the Chaplet for Priests that they gave us every day and now I make the chaplets and give them away free to anyone who wants one. God Bless.

What a beautiful idea! I currently have ‘spiritually adopted’ an anonymous child in danger of abortion. I may similarly adopt an anonymous priest and/or seminarian 👍

Thinking about it the last couple of days, I am glad I was assigned a seminarian.

However, it has given me though about my direction in life. I have thought of the religious life but I am at a point where I may be too old. I did mention this to one of the priests on the retreat and now it has me wondering. 😊

Hey there,

Fr. Titus signed me up when he visited St. Cyril’s a couple weeks ago. Got my packet over the weekend. I figured I’m already praying for all the priests here in the house, what’s one more? 🙂
