How would I find a spiritual adviser? I joined a church group that meets every other week but most of the people seem too nice. I am not sure I would feel comfortable discussing all my problems with any of them. I felt like the only sinner in the room. I had to really watch what I said. I liked the group because they give me hope. I was feeling pretty worthless before going and I left feeling much better at the end of the meeting. And they all talked about being happy and about God’s mercy and I have to say most of the time I wish I was dead. Not really a happy person.

Try your nearest convent or monastery - most convents and monasteries provide programs of Spiritual Direction for people. If you know a retired priest, you could also ask him if he might be available.

I live in a small town but I will ask around to see if there is a convent or monastery within driving distance. Thanks for the advice.

You’re most welcome. I hope you find the person you need. I will keep you in my prayers - it sounds like you’re going through a very hard time.

Thank you, I have been wondering how I could start this process for myself. 🙂
