hi folks,

glad to see many are attending daily Mass, those that have the opportunity. just a quick note: i quit a job once because it was keeping me from daily Mass. but most importantly: God’s Will is perfect! He has a perfect plan for us and for each day. our job is to find that plan. Jesus said to several Saints that people who attend Mass more frequently will receive more glory in Heaven. And there is no faster way to attain holiness than Daily Mass + the Rosary. “if there is a Will there is a way.” if it is God’s Will for you to attend daily Mass and your will, then there will be a way. God Bless! 🙂

Three-sixteen … as wonderful as it is to go to Daily Mass if it’s possible, I couldn’t possibly advise anyone to choose it over their job.

I certainly hope you weren’t left without work as a result of your decision to quit. Work is also a gift from God, a duty he lays on us, and a way to glorify Him, don’t forget.

After all, do you think Peter and Paul and all the other apostles were able to have to break bread daily (or even weekly) while they were travelling? Probably not, but it didn’t stop them doing the work God appointed to them.

Wow. With jobs as scarce as they are in my area, I would hope that one would offer up the sacrifice of not being able to attend daily Mass in order to pay their bills and keep food on the table. Daily Mass is not a required practice of the laity. We have other responsibilities.

Peter was a Pope and Paul a bishop, so they had the power to consecrate bread and wine. Therefore they could have Holy Communion whenever they wished. i quit a job prayerfully, meaning i was seeking first the Kingdom of God, and all the things i needed were added to me as well, plus i was very BLESSED by daily Mass. God Bless 🙂

Hi 3-16,

Is it not true that when a priest is ordained he has a duty to say daily mass, even if nobody attends? As well as to pray the divine office? I’m at a loss to explain why you are receiving admonishments from others in this thread, when we should all be supportive of your decision. You did not advise others to quit their job, but simply told your own beautiful story.

In God’s providence, I have no doubt you were specifically called in prayer to be that faithful remnant. Similarly, Jesus did not beckon everyone in the boat to come to Him on the water … only Peter! Nor did the other apostles rebuke him not to get out of the boat. Even if they did try to stop him, (and scripture is silent on that), Peter nevertheless followed his personal Divine summons.

I encourage you, support you, and thank you for sharing. Let no one steal your joy!
