When receiving the Sacrament of Holy Communion, if properly disposed you receive Sacramental Grace and Sanctifying Grace. With a Spiritual communion, you would not receive Sacramental Grace, because you did not receive a Sacrament,
not interiorly correct. spiritual communion is usually done for example if someone is watching a recorded mass such as mass from ewtn or some other method. when the priest gives communion they usually have a prayer flash across the screen usually something like Jesus i cannot receive you sacramentally so please flow down your grace to me. its causes the same ends the difference is you are asking for the grace instead of receiving it in the sacrament.
