What are your thoughts on making a spiritual communion in the state of mortal sin? I ask because I’ve been away from the church for years but recently started to consider returning. I’ve started praying with some regularity and I remembered as a kid making a spiritual communion on the days we didn’t have mass. I found an act of spiritual communion on a catholic prayer app, but every time I start to say it I feel hesitant and stop. I just feel that my soul is not the place for God right now, if that makes sense. Can anyone weigh in?

The Bible says the prayer of a righteous man is powerful, but it never says the prayer of those of us in sin aren’t effectual or go unheard. In fact, the first thing we’re told to do in a state of sin is pray.

Here’s my advice. Get out of mortal sin ASAP. That can be done simply and quickly.

Why not just go to confession. Then partake in the Eucharist.

Don´t stop praying!!
Furthermore I will advise you to go to Confession and talk to a priest - somehow.
I remember reading what I think were your last thread and I know that you struggle with these things - but speaking with a priest will help you on path ahead of you.
