Are we being duped ?.

It seems that many Christians believe that Satan has triumphed as society continues in a spiral free-fall toward materialism, lust, and lawlessness. But if we think this is Satan’s ultimate goal, we have been duped.

One of Pope John Paul II’s most memorable quotes came from his predecessor, who said,

The sin of the century is the loss of the sense of sin. —POPE PIUS XII, Radio Address to the United States Catechetical Congress held in Boston; 26 Oct., 1946: AAS Discorsi e Radiomessaggi, VIII (1946), 288

Just how much truth is there in this?

My understanding is that Satan’s ultimate goal is to separate us from God by any means necessary. I don’t know what you mean by our being duped - could you clarify?

And no Satan will not triumph; we can be assured of victory in Christ.

Hi Bm
I put it this way , it (satin) puts confusion or some humanistic approach in the way of we people of God (and others) and it looks good, is enticing and really is bait to lead us down as you have writen. Does that make sence?
Godbless

Could you give an example? that might help me understand what your point is.

Besides that, I don’t know if any Christians think that Satan has triumphed. I certainly know that Satan has done great damages to many souls …but not triumphed. Satan will be defeated.

I’ll put it like this …each day there are more and more people who give up on God (the records tell) with less and less at mass, church groups, prayer groups, and individual choices of four lettered words being used

I guess the word would be for one “minimisation”, the media minimises the meaning of the word, such as the word ***bug,ar ***and others, another, the feeling that comes to most that “I’m too tired”, “I need more money”. "well missing out once wont matter,. These are alltricks by satin. Where do we get it? on the radio as we drive, on TV as we sit, in the newspaper. And the list goes on.
