Spiritual Direction

I find this discussion fascinating. I have been looking for a retreat where I can reflect and pray and think. I have found some good places on line in California where I hope I can block out the outside world and find direction. I do not live in California, but will be travelling through soon. Does anyone have a good place where I can go for a week and meet with spiritual directors and try to get on track? Any suggestions will be appreciated. I have been wandering for too long. I thank you for alowing a Sinner like me to join in and try to find my way back. If that is possible.

Hmm…speaking to one’s Spiritual Director does not exactly equate to going on retreat. Yes there are retreat SDs but those are slightly different. A personal SD looks at overall spiritual growth, while a retreat SD looks at growth over the course of the retreat. Yet a retreat SD can also become one’s personal SD.

Christ the King Retreat Center is in Citrus Heights, not too far from where I am. It is run by the Passionist Order and they have a Spiritual Direction & Counseling center there. It’s a great place to go, though I don’t know anything about the Spiritual Direction & Counseling center. This is actually the place I was thinking of when I started this thread.

Tkdnick, Thank you. I have done some research on this place and I think that I will check it out. I live far from the states and I am going home for a Family Reunion in the Midwest. I go through LA and I hope to get a good respite before that. *I think that I will spend a week at a retreat center first. During my travels around the world, I have fallen into the travelers follie of thinking “what happens on the road won’t matter” I was wrong and I knew I was wrong. Thank you!
