Spiritual Director pay

I’m looking for a spiritual director and considering asking a priest that my wife and I go to for confession. I’m not sure if he does this but if he does what would be the appropriate compensation for him? I’ve never had a spiritual director so I’m not sure about many things about it like how often would we would meet?

I would suggest asking him if he wants a stipend. The priests that I’ve had as directors are basically paid by their parishes so they didn’t ask for or want compensat okion. When I’ve seen people connected with retreat houses I’ve been asked to pay because that’s how the retreat center covers its expenses. I would just ask.
