Spiritual Director

I have a question: how does one go about finding a spiritual director? In discerning a religious vocation, I have been told that I should find a spiritual director, but I really don’t know how to go about doing that. Our parish priest is a faithful priest, but he is not trained to be a spiritual director. Just wondering if anyone has suggestions on how to find one!

Have you tried asking your priest if he could recommend someone?

I went to a monastery where they hear confessions on a daily basis and just asked the priest on duty that day if he could be mine (for my first). It turned out to be wonderful and he helped me greatly. Unfortunately he died last year and I have yet to ask someone else…
