What is your difference of spiritual exercises or prayers? What is your take between them?

Excuse me if this a “google it up” or “duh” question, but since I have an account here for asking stuff and getting an excuse to chat with you guys. :o

Have a good day and pardon for the time. 👋

RCIAGraduate,

I am not sure what your question is.
If you give us a little clarification, we’d be happy to answer. Do you mean our “spiritual exercises” as in what we do for our spiritual well being, e.g. novenas, or chaplets?

Specifically, the “Spiritual Exercises” are a 30 day silent retreat that uses various forms of prayer and meditation, in the Jesuit tradition, to help the retreatant become closer to God. You can find more information about them, and the various way one can experience them at Ignatian Spirituality.

Generally, “spiritual exercises” can be anything you do, including prayer, that help you to grow in your spiritual life. They can include spiritual reading, corporal works of mercy, specific prayers, the Divine Office, daily Mass attendance, and regular Adoration to name a few.

This is how I understand it too.
