Spiritual Life a Mess

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
It is my first time on this forum and i am so glad to have you all to talk to. I am 14, and i am currently going through a tough time. I try and attent the TLM whenever I can and go to Mass several times a week. My religion means a lot to me, though i find it hard to put it into practice. I go to a Catholic school, though many of my classmates deny the real presence, don’t go to Mass, and many are involved in impurity, with quite a few having lost their virginity already. I am really trying to grow closer to Our Lord, though there seems to be so many things stopping me. i have problems with pornography and masturbation, I find it hard to show respect to my parents,and i just feel so helpless. I do pray, though normally when i have fallen into sin, i neglect my prayers until my next confession. I fnd it hard to imagine that God is listening to my prayers, so i normally either cut them short or neglect them alltogether. Please give me some advice on how i can get out of the mess i am in, and please pray for me.

this is the place to start. pray unceasingly as the apostle warns us. in fact, in Romans someplace (I’ll look for it) Paul says God is nearest when we need him most, including and especially at times of temptation or when we have fallen. under no circumstances should you quit praying, that is the Devil’s goal in all his temptations, and it can lead to lack of faith in God’s mercy, which is all important.

I really don't have much advice, since I am somewhat in your situation. I will definitely be praying for you.

I will be Praying for you.One (there are others)of the weapons or defences we have against “vices” is to practice the opposite "virtue"and make them a habit instead of the vice.
