Spiritual meaning of father giving away the bride

I came from a family of nine kids who shared a four bedroom house with a single bathroom.

Three of my siblings were older sisters, so I imagine the meaning of “how do you spell relief” came to mind for both my father and sisters when my father walked them down the aisle.

Thank you for this. The above post were my notes from this link (tried to include this in the post but it’s restricted):

To clarify, in the original post, the only thing that is rightly attributed to Fr Chad Ripperger are the words “FAMILIAL LINES OF AUTHORITY HUSBAND & WIFE” and the rest is something the OP came up with? If so, it ought to be removed, as it appears that these are the thoughts of Fr Chad Ripperger.
@StRaphaelPray4Us
Didn’t you mean to say that these are NOT the thoughts of Fr Chad Ripperger?

I’m just a newbie here. I’m an enlightened Catholic and I want to share my notes from other Catholics as well. Most of the things I just studied were i think forgotten by most Catholics of today. It’s a very deep religion and every tradition has it’s own significance and every detail has a very interesting meaning.

If only every Catholic new!

This forum just came across last night while I am searching if there are other publications related to the topic I’ve just posted.

Hope to learn more about Godly matters with all of you.

Better if you will check it out yourself.

Wow! Happy for your father and sisters too. God bless you and your family

After you’re done listening, share with us what you’ve heard. Honestly, I had a hard time with Fr. Ripperger’s slang English so i wasn’t able to finish the rest of his explanation.

"23 Intelligent people think before they speak; what they say is then more persuasive. 24 Kind words are like honey - sweet to the taste and good for your health. 25 What you think is the right road may lead to death.
-Proverbs 16:23-25

Fr. Ripperger is a Theologian, Philosopher and Exorcist Priest. And an exorcist priest will never be a successful exorcist priest if he is not a disciple of Christ.

Mark 3:14-15 King James Version (KJV)
14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,

15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:

So what he says is reliable and has basis.

And while the society has, maybe, changed, the sanctity of the traditions of the Church remains. Everything has an explanation.

I do not just know what happens to the familial lines of authority when the father is deceased. Let me get back to you on that.

But even so, I’m happy that you’re able to be with your mom at your wedding. 😍

We welcome you to CAF, but urge you to stick to the facts, especially when you appear to be quoting someone else.

Members are concerned—and irritated—that you put words into Fr Chad Ripperger’s mouth that he didn’t say. It is a fact that you did mix folklore, the customs of some countries, and the fantasies of some women (and, perhaps, some fathers), all in your own words, all together, but your formatting made it first appear that Fr Chad Ripperger had uttered these very un-Catholic statements.

Several of us have explained the points in your first post that are just plain wrong, and how Fr Ripperger actually did NOT make them, so I find your last post, above, to be troublesome. Your first post was riddled with innacuracies. Are you still trying to tell us that your opening post was correct?

Am I correct in guessing that English is not your first language?

This is NOT part of the Catholic marriage rite. And never has been!
The section of my ‘62 Missal containing the Order of Marriage indicates that “[t]he woman is given to the man by her father or friend”.

I know who he is. I also know other exorcist priests who do not go around proclaiming such views.
Every diocese has an exorcist. There are dozens of them in USA alone.

??? What on earth are you asking me to check out for myself? I have read every post, starting with your first one filled with inaccuracies (to be kind), and the links posted by others.

I suggest that you reread our posts and explain to us why you tried to make it appear that Fr Ripperger said things that he actually did not say at all.
