Spiritual Reading

Until recently, I hadn’t ever really done any kind of spiritual reading, so I got John Paul II’s Theology of the Body. I am only 17 years old, and I knew that book was some fairly advanced reading, but I thought I could handle it. It turns out I overestimated myself. It was way too heavy for me.

Do you all have any suggestions for some spiritual reading on the same subject? Something involving purity and that would help me see the other sex in the way that God intended?

How about “Theology of the Body for Beginners” by Christopher West. It’s an introduction to Pope John Paul II’s Theology of the Body.

Though it is not exactly the same type of reading as Theology of the Body, Pierced by a Sword by Bud Macfarlane helped to change the way I look at women (as well as myself and my faith); I was 18 when I first read it. It is a novel that is loaded with Catholic teachings and values and it is free!

don’t feel bad it is too heavy for me, and I have a couple of masters degrees, but am aging rapidly.

Theology of the Body for Beginners by Christopher West is more my speed, and what is more, is written in a way that makes it much easier for me to digest for presentation in classes to teens and adults.
