I dont get what an example of spiritual suffering would be, i am not talking about mental (or emotional) sufferings. But examples of spiritual sufferings.
I’m not sure what your talking about. Do you want examples of how our spirits suffer?I dont get what an example of spiritual suffering would be, i am not talking about mental (or emotional) sufferings. But examples of spiritual sufferings.
Loneliness…stripped of emotion and consolation. All that is left is naked faith to live by. Wondering if God is pleased or displeased, yet going on as if nothing is different in fulfilling what one thinks God wants of them. Almost as if God has disappeared or no longer exists. Prayer brings no relief…just trudging along on hard faith.I dont get what an example of spiritual suffering would be, i am not talking about mental (or emotional) sufferings. But examples of spiritual sufferings.
Here are some spiritual sufferings: feelings of not loving God or of not loving Him enough; feelings of dryness during prayer, feelings of scrupulosity; feelings of sloth; feelings of despair; the loss of a spiritual director. God bless you.I dont get what an example of spiritual suffering would be, i am not talking about mental (or emotional) sufferings. But examples of spiritual sufferings.
The spiritual sufferings of Catholics differ from the sufferings of Atheists because, although Atheists do suffer, they suffer as pagans without faith and without God; spiritually, Atheists are dead, they have nothing to do with God, so their spiritual life is empty and void (with no Catholic spirituality, the one good spirituality that exists), thus Atheists can not even begin to compare with Catholics who are in a state of sanctifying grace and spiritually suffering. God bless you. These are great examples of all the things i go through but does this apply for non religious people. Like atheists or maybe just faithful christians or just your everyday people
Who said that Atheists do not suffer inside? I did not say this at all. Of course they suffer like all human beings do. I said that Atheists suffer, but what they suffer can not be compared to what Catholics in a state of grace suffer spiritually – by this I do not mean that Atheists suffer less than Catholics who are in a state of grace, but I mean that they suffer “spiritually” quite differently. How could an Atheist who is dead spiritually and who rejects God suffer “spiritually” the same way a Catholic in a state of grace suffers? Atheists don’t even believe in God or have faith – how can their “spirituality” (if you can even call it that) even begin to compare with a Catholic’s who is in a state of grace? God bless you. That is not true, hold on there, i know people who are good atheists and still suffer inside. Maybe because of a death from a loved one, for example. But again this is just an example.
