I’m very hesitant to respond to this thread, but…here goes.
The best thing for you to do is to speak with your PASTOR. Not just any priest, not just a holy priest, your PASTOR. He’s the one who has responsibility for the well-being of your soul. Please don’t misunderstand…I don’t mean any disrespect to anyone who has posted here, but please, asking about these matters in a forum such as this is akin to asking your poker buddy about your stomach ache because he happened to take a biology class once in high school. The proper person to speak to in such a case is your doctor, YOUR primary care physician because he or she has primary responsibility for the care of your body. Likewise, your pastor has primary responsibility for the care of your soul.
Even if an exorcism were warranted, and don’t misunderstand–I’m not saying it is–there is a process through which one goes in order to do this. For the bishop to grant permission for the rite of exorcism to be performed, he would first insist that all other channels to explain what is going on on a natural level be exhausted. So, in other words, you will need a psychological exam, probably a physical exam, and other things.
The full rite of exorcism is exceedingly rare. However, people suffer evil all the time. The proper course of action is two-fold.
First, as I said above…speak with your pastor. Call his office and set up an appointment. And, tell him everything. Don’t beat around the bush on any details.
Second, the normal course of action are the normal means Christ has left to His Church. Namely, the sacraments, sacramentals, and prayer. One priest whom I know that is involved in this ministry says repeatedly, “One good confession is worth 1,000 exorcisms.” We tend to mystify this stuff…it’s really not anything to get worked up about. Go to confession, receive the Eucharist, use holy water, spend time in adoration, pray the Rosary and Chaplet, read the Bible. Normal things that anyone would be well-advised to do anyway. These are the normal means of combating evil.
By all means, by ALL means, stop speaking with these quasi-exorcists. They are not trained in the field. They most certainly do not have faculties from their bishop to be engaged in this ministry. Heck, I’m a priest and I don’t have faculties to be engaged in this ministry.
Pray…receive the sacraments…use sacramentals. That simple.
