God is omnipotent. He is all knowing and all powerful.

What is Satan? Can he hear thoughts and be in more than one place? What are his limitations since he is created and not the creator?

I don’t know. He has his legions of demons to do his dirty work. He is a fallen angel, so he is more powerful than human beings. But I don’t think he is omnipotent or omnipresent.

I think he’s more than capable of hearing thoughts, as how many times have people felt his presence and influence, and they simply command him in Jesus’ name to leave them - but in their mind. Saying “be gone satan, in Jesus’ name!” in public probably wouldn’t go down well.

God knows the future, I’d say satan doesn’t, he’s probably very good at seeing where actions lead, but he won’t know 100% their outcome or any outcome.

That’s just a few thoughts I have on the matter, I’m sure others more learned have a better idea.

Although fallen, as an angel he has an intellect far greater than any human. He does not know the future,however, he likely has a good guess as to effects of an action. Angels are spiritual being so all they have to do is think about where they want to go and they are there.

He cannot read minds. By invoking Jesus’ name you are making a prayer and the removal of the presence or temptation is the prayer being answered. It is not necessary for Satan to know you are telling him to be gone for Christ to scare him off. It’s like a burglar trying to break into your house. You see him, so you call the cops and they come and arrest him. You didn’t have to tell the burglar to stop in order for the cops to stop him.

There are 3 sources of temptation, the world, flesh, and the devil.

The world which has corrupted ideas, and tikles your desire for unnecessary things.
The flesh, our own body wants to overdue its passions because it is easy to give in.
The devil and his companions, are only allowed to tempt you within limits.

All three are like a bad wife, nag nag nag.
So its best to keep aware of where the evil will come from, and that is all three.
The warefare we have is against all three.

And yes the devil can suggest evil thoughts and desires, but cannot make you give in to them.
