Spiritually adopting a baby

I am praying the 9 days for life novena and i was curious what was meant by spiritually adopting a baby. I thought it was a sweet idea. However, I am unsure if I have to know a baby in danger of abortion, or am I meant to just pick a name and go crazy (in prayer)?
 
Yes just pick a baby in your head that is about to be aborted and name him/her. Then pray for him or her
