How do you know that it is I who is the child lacking humility?

I’m open to why you believe. Are you open to reasons to believe opposite? Come on, be fair in your analysis.

If you have received something, then you are able to present the position. You are unwilling or unable to present or acknowledge the position of the church. this indicates that you have not received our arguement. I am able to articulate the reasons that you believe opposite, even though I do not agree with them/.

IMO, it is not me who criticizes.

critical thinking is part of debate. A very skilled debator is able to support the position of his opponent.

You have consistently misrepresented our position, which means you either dont’ “get it”, or you refuse to attempt to see things from our point of view.

You were talking about an article that was on a link at the time. The member asked you repeatedly if you read it, and you admitted that you started to do so, then stopped when you got to the part with which you did not agree. It was an external document.

It is not the disagreement that is the problem, it is the apparent obstinent refusal to accept what we believe as our belief, even though it differs from yours. I told William Scott I’d read it. I’ve been through it and underlined parts of it. I haven’t had time to post my comments.

BTW, I don’t believe I said I stop at the parts I don’t agree with. I believe I said I stop after the argument is the same that has been presented over and over and over again. If you can show me where I’ve said what you accuse me of saying, I’ll surely reevaluate my thinking.

We have different points of veiw, Doki. We are able to articulate yours, and understand why you have it, even though we don’t agree with it. You are not able to do the same with ours.

The purpose of the forum is to compare and contrast beliefs. In order to effectively do that, one must be able to see things from the opposite point of view. It does not appear that you are able to do this. Or, you may be unwilling to do this.

Fair enough. I guess I can see your point: you are as assured that your position is correct as we are, and we will just have to move on.

Yes, I must confess that playing it any longer is not of benefit to anyone. I have turned my attention to other threads, and chosen to accept the things I cannot change.

I think I am about 200 posts late on that decision.

I understand what you are saying when you say it. I just disagree with you as I don’t think you realize a rose is a rose no matte what you call it.
