I misspoke. There is no doubt in my mind who is mislead.
By this you mean, as you said the Holy Spirit guided both of us, one he mislead.

From the beginning to the end, all I see is that you made lots of assumptions, and many times you were wrong. You tend to ignore people’s direct questions to you when you knew that they were pointing at what you were wrong about. And when you could not come up an answer for it, all you could say …yeah you go your way, I go my way.

Truly, you go your way and you will go the wrong way for it is not your way that you follow, and it is not our way that we follow - it is Jesus’ way.

Really? did the Bible say he didn’t do anything? Didn’t he get nailed onto the cross? didn’t he get his feet busted? Did the Bible say he went straight to Heaven or it is just your guest?

Jam 2:26: faith without works is dead.
Read Luke 23:42-43
The criminal was already on the cross when he made he profession of faith. He did no works after his profession of faith.

Can you point to the part where it says he did no work?
He did more works while he was hung on that cross more than what you know. Besides, does the Bible say he goes straight to Heaven without going anywhere else? …yes, I do know what it says in the Bible that he would be in Heaven, but I do know that it does not say where he went before he went to Heaven.

You can go on and on from one point to another trying to prove Catholic is wrong. It is not going to help you much.

I know for a fact that Pope John Paul II called Mary Coredemptrix and Mediatrix. If you would like to learn more about these apparitions and the Catholic response to them check out the dvd ‘Messages From Heaven.’ It’s produced by Calvary Chapel.

Hi Newbie1234
I am sorry to hear we lost you to the Calvary Chapel. I pray that you return to the true church. As far as the dvd you mention, I haven’t heard this one, but I have listened to several others that Calvary Chapel has produced and have since discarded them. They do nothing but bad mouth the Catholic Church and her teachings.

That has been my experience with them and I would discourage all Catholics from listening to them. This is just my opinion.

If I ignored any questions I apologize.
During most of this conversation there where 2 or 3 people firing question all at the same time with links of things to read and it was a little overwhelming to me. Keep in mind that during all this I had to look at my own bible for scriptural reference. I don’t have a Christian apologetics page to refute catholicism on my laptop. I know there are plenty of catholic websites that answer every question imaginable. I’ve been to some of them.
Ask any question you wish. I don’t think I avoided any questions because I didn’t have an answer.Although, it might have seemed that way.
I don’t have a manuscript that I’m reading from.
You are much better prepared than I am.
I came to this sight for a conversation.
Members here have all questions already answered in apologetics format.
Last night Manny was copying and pasteing dozens of scriptures at a time. There is no way I could refute or address each one in a timely manner.
I wasn’t avoiding anything. It just isn’t possible to address each one. I don’t type that fast.

Please open your bible and read the verse.Luke 23:42-43
What work could he have done while on the cross?
It’s in plain english.
Just open your bible.

I don’t go to calvary chapel.
But I am in agreement with many of their teachings.

Just open your bible.
And he said to him, "And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”

Jesus said paradise not heaven. When he died he went to preach to the dead Peter. "For this was the reason why the good news of Jesus was given even to the dead, so that they might be judged as men in the flesh, but might be living before God in the spirit."1 Peter 4:6.

That is where he went. He rise again from the dead on the third day. When the Apostle ask him about the restoration, Jesus said, “I have not ascended to my father yet.”

Paradise doesn’t necessary mean heaven. It is a place. Jesus went to Limbo to preach to the dead when he died on the cross on the 3rd hour from noon; and resurrected on the 3rd day.

The suffering of the thief on the cross and his contrition and love.

Could I ask you the same question, what work could Jesus have done while on the cross?
Jesus didn’t need salvation.
He is the Savior.
Whether or not He did any works on the cross is irrelevant.

I’m glad we are on the same page.
The Holy Spirit HAS led me here to talk with you.
I don’t know the reason.
It’s pretty clear that you are firm in your faith.
You are immovable.
Another wrong assumption. I am very flexible and willing to follow the Holy Spirit where very He leads. Again, this is why I am a Catholic.
Your truth and my truth differ.
Yet this cannot be. Both cannot be truth. One of us is wrong. None of this is subjective or relative. This is why I challenge you to “Carefully study to present thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.”
That’s ok.
You stay over there.
I’ll stay over here.
But then what happens to the prayer of Our Lord.

John 17:11 And now I am not in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name whom thou has given me; that they may be one, as we also are.

21 That they all may be one, as thou, Father, in me, and I in thee; that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22 And the glory which thou hast given me, I have given to them; that they may be one, as we also are one:
I know this though: you have sharpened me. And I thank you for it.
And you are quite welcome. But don’t dismiss what we have shared with you out of hand. Examine what you believe in the light of the facts we have presented to you and be obediantly open to the possibility that the Holy Spirit may well be trying to lead you home to the Catholic faith, even as He did me.
I witness to dozens of catholics every week and I need to be sharp.
Why Catholics? Why not Baptists, Assemblies of God, Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, or even Moslems? Sounds to me like you are targetting my brothers and sisters and I definitely take issue with that.
Get the facts. Decide for yourself.

Actually, since you have not been able to answer all of the replies. My question is just to guide you back to some of the unanswered questions.

Jesus was on the cross, did His works as He was obedient to the Father. See, now this also reminds you about you stating your mother being only obedient to the Church. 😃

Randy,
Whoever the teacher is, everything taught MUST be in line with the bible. 2Tim3:16-17.
I have both the authority and ability to read the bible and test all things 1thess5:21.
A doctrine of men that is not scriptural.
Pax Domini sit semper vobiscum.

So the criminal’s profession of faith got him into paradise. And to get to heaven he probably had to do some works after he died? Is that your position?

I cannot be one with any who deify Mary

I minister to hundreds of people of all faiths every week.
I need to be well versed in all of them.
There a a lot of Mormans over here also. I study what they believe in depth also.
Get the facts. Decide for yourself.
