Can the former Catholic tell me how he finds the courage or even the will to live?

**Ralph claims to be Protestant. I can’t believe it any longer. Sorry. He must be of some queer sect. Lutherans wouldn’t keep writing such limitless nonsense, which doesn’t make any sense to answer. At least I won’t do so any longer. Just let him believe what he might. The crown of all foolishness was:
“If you can find them (evangelists) I would gladly listen to them, where are they? Ralph“ It’s just if a ignoramus would cover his eyes and say – now you can’t see me!

If you are refering to Ralph, I only live by the grace of God and for His sake. I am lead by the Holy Spirit of God, and I am ready to go where He wants me to go, and say what He wants me to say. When ever He calls me home to glory, I am ready, for I am saved and covered by His blood. Praise His name. Ralph

Evangelists are those who preach the word of God, I am beginning to see that you will have to go outside the Roman cathoilc church to find them. Ralph

You have not identified yourself as an atheist so the question was not aimed at you, but thank you for your response.

No Ralphy I am sorry to say you are not showing any signs of illumination by grace when you preach the errors you do in these forums. But we can still pray for you will come around.

I noticed that you seem to have a strange preoccupation about being “covered in blood”. You do know that this is an expression right? The men who scourged, brutalized, pierced and crucified Jesus were the only one’s actually covered in blood. Jesus is the Living Word of God and it was abused on the cross. You are likewise abusing and butchering the Word of God Ralph – sorry but its true. If you want to be assured of salvation then you need to stop preaching false doctrines and come into the Catholic Church and OBEY all of Christ’s commandments.

What of the Apostolic power to heal lepers and raise the dead?

Funny how the Apostles only passed down their invisible powers, but not the powers that people can see with their own eyes.
When the divine virtue passed through the human nature of Christ to bring grace and truth to the sinners among whom he lived, then, although it remained essentially mysterious, it embodied itself in space and time, and became in a measure manifest, on account of the visible means it borrowed. This too, the same mysterious virtue by which today the Church is formed in the world, having come from its source in the Trinity and passed through the human nature of our Lord now glorified and ascended into heaven, continues, by passing through the HIERARCHY, to incarnate itself in space and time and to make itself in a measure visible, by reason of the means whereby it enters into sensible contact with us. It is thus invisible and mysterious in its inner depths, but visible and evident up to a point in virtue of the sensible vesture with which it clothes itself in order to reach us.

We need no faith to perceive the sacramental signs and the jurisdictional organization of the Church. Faith will be needed, however, to recognize that these signs and this organization are the envelope of the hidden, divine and ever active virtue, without which the very being and existence of the Church would soon founder into nothingness. That is the mystery we confess when we say, in the words of the Nicaeo-Constantinopolitan Creed: “I believe in the APOSTOLIC Church.” We believe - it is a truth of faith revealed in Scripture - that a supernatural virtue permeates the HIERARCHY, the APOSTOLIC BODY, for the forming of the Body of Christ in the world.

Yet, however mysterious in itself, the divine virtue that forms and maintains the Church is revealed in one of its effects" the marvellous permanence of the Church. To anyone who is alive to the impermanence and fragility of all known societies, the uninterrupted substantial continuity of the Church, in the midst of revolutions of the Western world, must surely seem a sociological fact for which no natural explanation will suffice. The permanence of the Church under one same HIERARCHY is not a mystery to be seen only by the eye of faith; it is a fact verifiable in history; and its miraculous character bears witness to the divine origin of the Church. In this sense Bossuet could write: "Besides the advantages which the Church of Jesus Christ alone possesses in being founded on miraculous and divine facts openly proclaimed without fear of contradiction at the very time when they happened, here, for those who live in latter times, we have a permanent miracle confirming the truth of all the others: the persistence of a religion consistently victorious over all the errors that attempt to destroy it.

The HIERARCHY is mysterious and, as such, an object of faith, in so far as it is a dispenser of divine grace and truth, and in so far as it is the instrumental cause of the Body of Christ which is the Church. But it is also miraculous, and, as such, observable, inasmuch as in the turmoil and confusion of the world it communicates a constancy, a persistence, to all that we can see of the Church - a constancy of doctrine and of practice which the laws that preside over the evolution of human societies cannot sufficiently explain.

What do you have to say about the other book you follow, the Catechism, is there anything scriprural in that? Ralph
Why don’t you just click on the link that we gave you for it?
You will see numerous citations to the Bible at the bottom of the pages.

This is one of the weakest debating techniques, trying to undermine another posters credibility, by suggesting that their thoughts and writings, are that of an immature youth.

It’s been tried on me before, and true to form, having ignored the comment, the poster left shortly after, as he or she, had nothing else to say of any importance.

It generally is a sign that you are in over your head and you no longer possess an ability to defend that what you are supposed to be defending.

Like the guy who pointed out that I had incorrectly used the word " Their" instead of using They’re".

I’m beginning to see that this a standard tactic around here. Attack the poster, not the post. 🤷
So let’s get real then, shall we?

In St. Thomas Aquinas’ treatment of injustice done to God by sins against religion he makes NO mention of atheism. As often happens in St. Thomas, what he does not say is as important as what he says; in this case the very omission has profound significance. On the face of it, there is a direct opposition between religion and atheism. One gives reverence and subjection to the first and last Cause, while the other denies and ignores a first and last Cause. But look a little deeper and you will see that St. Thomas’ omission of atheism was due to his hard common sense, the common sense that kept him from chasing figments of the imagination when there were things to get done.

As a matter of fact, there cannot be atheism! Man may vociferously deny that he had any first cause, though his very existence reveals the falseness of his claim; but he cannot even deny that he has a last cause, a final end, without paralyzing action and reducing it to the spasmodic twitchings of madness. Man must go somewhere, for his life is a motion and every act is a step toward a goal. Man’s goal is his god - an odd god, perhaps, represented by the figures on a bank statement, the sweetness of pleasure, the exhilaration of power, the oblivion of a party, a state, a nation, or even man’s puny self - whatever it is that the modern atheist aims at, to that thing he pays the tribute of religion. That is his false god; more hideous, more ludicrous. more pathetic, more calamitous that the ugly idol of a savage.

If we look at the whole life of man, rather than at his intellect alone, we see that men of our century have joined with the men of all ages in subjecting themselves to something; and they have embraced almost everything that has been offered by the ages in the way of a false god. We too have our modern idols, modern only in that they wear twenty-first century clothes: wealth, success, political prestige, party supremacy, even pure selfishness. There have been some men in every age who subjected themselves to things beneath them and consequently have condemned themselves to degradation and tyranny. Our age is no exception and you are just one example of it.

Paradoxical as it may seem, it remains true that man is perfect in exact proportion to the subjection he gives to his superiors, to that subjection given the Supreme Being Who is the first cause and last end of every creature. This truth is buried so deeply in man’s heart that, however much he may reject God, he will insist upon subjecting himself to something, to someone, because of that profound realization that only in subjection can he come to perfection. Religion is matter of strict justice; it merely gives God His due. And we cannot give God anything without perfecting ourselves. There are two sides to the coin of religion: on one side is the worship of God; on the other the perfection of man. The two are inseparable. As the worship of God is neglected the perfection of man decays; as man perfects himself, so also must he perfect the worship of God. There is no other recipe for perfection than that of subjection, for it is always true that he that will lose his life will save it, and he that will save his life will lose it. It is only by giving that life utterly to God that it becomes solidly our own.

“The fool has said in his heart, there is no God.” Psalm 13:1

The necessity of a blood sacrifice, also seems odd, considering that the creator the universe could think of no other way to forgive his creation.

poorlttlemuchafraid,

It’s his ball and bat. Free will brings a lot of surprises. Adam and Eve used to just wear their birthday suits. But since fig leaves shrink when air-dried, God, being Adam’s friend, made the first move and provided the first blood sacrifice of an animal skin.

Bet it was warm, too.

How old are you anyway? Your posts look like a kid’s post. Are you 18? You have to be 18 to join the forum you know.
This is one of the weakest debating techniques, trying to undermine another posters credibility…
Spare me please. He is doing a fine job of undermining his own credibility with his posts, as are you with your posts I might add.
I was only asking him a question because his posts seemed very immature, and because I don’t want to waste my time engaging some kid.

I would still like to know how iamnotafraid finds the courage to live, and how he (she?) explains the origins of the universe.

**“Sailor Kenshin” asked the member of a sect Ralphy:
“I’m confused. God is speaking through you?"

And we heard the typical answer:
“That is correct, we who are saved here on earth are His “mouthpiece”, we are to take the gospel of salvation to the world”

All sects consider themselves as such. In their folly they really think they are
Lets remember Mt 24,11 and many other warnings of false preachers.
They have got little pieces of Gods truth, but mix it up with their false doctrines.

ABSOLUTELY SPOT ON.

And just a little too impressed with themselves. Does anyone smell sulfur?

Here is where it gets interesting…

HOW are you saved?
HOW are you covered by His blood?

Are all men saved?
Are all men covered by His blood?

What is the difference between those saved and unsaved?
Is it something YOU did or Jesus did?

michel

Technically, no one is actually “saved” until they get to heaven. Thats because salvation is not a one-time event, but rather it is an ongoing process. The Fundamentalist asks “Are you saved?” because he has a false understanding of salvation, which is why the question itself is a non-sequitur…

The Bible says I am already saved (Rom. 8:24, Eph. 2:5–8), but it also says I’m being saved (1 Cor. 1:8, 2 Cor. 2:15, Phil. 2:12), and I have the hope that I *will be *saved (Rom. 5:9–10, 1 Cor. 3:12–15). It is, as I said, a process and not an event fixed at one point in time.

Like the apostle Paul we are working out our salvation in fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12), with hopeful confidence in the promises of Christ (Rom. 5:2, 2 Tim. 2:11–13).
