Here is where it gets interesting…

HOW are you saved?
HOW are you covered by His blood?

Are all men saved?
Are all men covered by His blood?

What is the difference between those saved and unsaved?
Is it something YOU did or Jesus did?

michel
Let’s see.
  1. BY THE BLOOD.
  2. YOU PLEAD THE BLOOD.
  3. IN AS MUCH AS THEY WANT TO BE.
  4. IN AS MUCH AS THEY WANT TO BE.
  5. ONE IS EXERCISING FREE WILL, AND THE OTHER ONE IS EXERCISING FREE
    WILL.
  6. ALL OF THE ABOVE.

Technically, no one is actually “saved” until they get to heaven. Thats because salvation is not a one-time event, but rather it is an ongoing process. The Fundamentalist asks “Are you saved?” because he has a false understanding of salvation, which is why the question itself is a non-sequitur…

The Bible says I am already saved (Rom. 8:24, Eph. 2:5–8), but it also says I’m being saved (1 Cor. 1:8, 2 Cor. 2:15, Phil. 2:12), and I have the hope that I *will be *saved (Rom. 5:9–10, 1 Cor. 3:12–15). It is, as I said, a process and not an event fixed at one point in time.

Like the apostle Paul we are working out our salvation in fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12), with hopeful confidence in the promises of Christ (Rom. 5:2, 2 Tim. 2:11–13).
Exactly 👍

2 - HOW are you covered by His blood?

Let’s see.
  1. BY THE BLOOD.
  2. YOU PLEAD THE BLOOD. ← So does Ralphy agree that there IS something you must DO to be ‘covered by His blood’?
  3. IN AS MUCH AS THEY WANT TO BE. ← All are not saved, then.
  4. IN AS MUCH AS THEY WANT TO BE. ← IF they ‘plead the blood’, right?
  5. ONE IS EXERCISING FREE WILL, AND THE OTHER ONE IS EXERCISING FREE
WILL. ← this doesn’t answer the question. why are some saved and some not saved? what is the difference between the saved group and the unsaved group? Is the difference between groups due to something Jesus did or didn’t do … or something the individuals in those groups did or didn’t do.
  6. ALL OF THE ABOVE.
I agree that Christ shed his blood for all men.
However, all men are not saved.
I believe the difference is in what the individuals did or did not do.

Ralphy says he is saved … The difference between him and someone not saved is something RALPHY did.

michel

No Ralphy I am sorry to say you are not showing any signs of illumination by grace when you preach the errors you do in these forums. But we can still pray for you will come around.

I noticed that you seem to have a strange preoccupation about being “covered in blood”. You do know that this is an expression right? The men who scourged, brutalized, pierced and crucified Jesus were the only one’s actually covered in blood. Jesus is the Living Word of God and it was abused on the cross. You are likewise abusing and butchering the Word of God Ralph – sorry but its true. If you want to be assured of salvation then you need to stop preaching false doctrines and come into the Catholic Church and OBEY all of Christ’s commandments.

Ralph accepted the “free” gift that God offered through His son, the Lord Jesus Christ when he gave His life on the cross of Calvary. He shed His blood so that I did not have to pay the penalty for my sin. That is what Ralph did. ralph

Ralphy ACCEPTED. That’s what you DID.

Finely, a rendering.

YES!!

Ralphy … now that you have accepted, will you do ALL that scripture says you must do to continue in your salvation?

again … i will list for you what scripture says we must DO to be saved.

Have faith (Rom 3:28, John 3:16, 1 John 4:15)
forgive the sins of others (Matt 6:14-15)
care for one’s family (1 Tim 5:8)
feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit the sick and imprisoned (Matt 25:31-46)
keep the Commandments (Matt 19:17 and 1 John 2:3-4)
love your brother (1 John 2:10)
deny yourself and pick up your cross daily (Luke 9:23)
do the will of the Father (Matt 7:21)
eat the flesh and drink the blood of the Son of Man (John 6:51-58)
give a return for the talents the Master has given you (Matt 25:14-30)
be baptized (John 3:3-5, 1 Ptr 3:20-21)
hold fast your confidence and pride in your hope. (Heb 3:6)
confess your sins (1 John 1:9)

Will you DO these things?
If you DO NOT do them … are you still saved?

9:1 Now the first covenant, in fact, had regulations for worship and its earthly sanctuary. 2 For a tent was prepared, the outer one, which contained the lampstand, the table, and the presentation of the loaves; this is called the holy place. 3 And after the second curtain there was a tent called the holy of holies. 4 It contained the golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant covered entirely with gold. In this ark were the golden urn containing the manna, Aaron’s rod that budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant. 5 And above the ark were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat. Now is not the time to speak of these things in detail. 6 So with these things prepared like this, the priests enter continually into the outer tent as they perform their duties. 7 But only the high priest enters once a year into the inner tent, and not without blood that he offers for himself and for the sins of the people committed in ignorance. 8 The Holy Spirit is making clear that the way into the holy place had not yet appeared as long as the old tabernacle was standing. 9 This was a symbol for the time then present, when gifts and sacrifices were offered that could not perfect the conscience of the worshiper. 10 They served only for matters of food and drink and various washings; they are external regulations imposed until the new order came. 11 But now Christ has come as the high priest of the good things to come. He passed through the greater and more perfect tent not made with hands, that is, not of this creation, 12 and he entered once for all into the most holy place not by the blood of goats and calves but by his own blood, and so he himself secured eternal redemption. 13 For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a young cow sprinkled on those who are defiled consecrated them and provided ritual purity, 14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our consciences from dead works to worship the living God.

Very good Ralph - you are close. But you need to step through the door Ralph to enter into Christ’s protection and atonement and into the promised land. Did you realize that the Cross is that very same passover doorway?

Look at the cross - does it not look just as the upright beam of the door frame and the horizontal member is the lentil? Do you see Jesus’ blood all over the lentil? Do you see what is in the doorway Ralph? It’s Jesus on the Cross! Do you remember Jesus telling you “no one comes to the father except by me”? Do you remember Jesus telling you “I AM, the narrow gate, and few enter thereby”? Do you remember the OT passage that tells us "Then I will set the key of the house of David on his shoulder, When he opens no one will shut, When he shuts no one will open (Issiah 22:22)? Do you see the cross as also the key carried on the shoulder of David’s descendent? Do you remember the passage "I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. 19 “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.” " (Matthew 16:18-19)? Do you know who has those keys now? Do you remember Jesus’ words about the new pascal food - the flesh and blood of the pascal lamb of God that is eaten when the lamb is raised up on the cross and His blood is sprinkled on the door post and lentil? Those words are: “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. 55 “For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink” (John 6:54-55 ).

Ralphy, where in all the world do you find Jesus still being represented in that one pascal sacrifice of Jesus being raised up on the cross and offered up for our salvation today? Where in all the world can you find a church that proclaims Jesus presence in the new Christian pascal meal of Holy Eucharist (body & blood) of Christ? Where in earth can you find the one church on the planet that stands ALONE to proclaim itself the apostolic church of Peter and in possession of the keys of heaven that Christ gave it? Where else on the planet can you enter through the narrow door of Christ crucified on the cross and be in communion with Christ Crucified and Christ Risen? The answer is The Catholic Church Ralph. Why don’t you come enter by the narrow gate and become Catholic rather than try to enter by the wide gate of human teaching and error that leads so many to their destruction?

There is no narrow gate into the promised land through your bible Ralphy - its through Christ Crucified as unlocked by the keys given to Peter in the sacraments of The Catholic Church.

And your point is what? Jerry where do you go to get the precious blood of the lamb to sprinkle on you Jerry? I mean really and physically where do you get it? It is real.

Catholics do what Jesus actually commanded and eat Christ’s body and DRINK his blood in the sacrament Of Eucharist (body and blood of Christ). We don’t pour the cup of salvation on our robes - we drink it and let God’s grace infuse into us - not cover us just on the outside as if a veneer.

But first and foremost you must first have possession of the precious blood and only the Catholic Church and a few remaining apostolic churches have it (Orthodox and a few smaller sects).

Do you know that the blood over the doorpost at the passover was covering the outer side of the door, those who were protected were INSIDE, that is why the death angel passed over them. I am on the inside of the door because I trusted Christ as my personal savior. We sing a hymn and some of the words say “when I see the Blood, I will pass over you”, I am covered by His blood. Just as Noah was inside the Ark, that is where I am. Christ is the “door” into heaven, and I have already entered through that door. PTL , Ralph.

Your entire post provides deep insights into the meaning of ATONEMENT.
I kind of doubt that Ralph will acknowledge it.

Or will he? This thread has become about him.

But this was all prefiguring the NT Ralphy. Those on the inside we safe because they were recognize by the blood of the lamb as being in the family of The Lord. In the NT its the same principal. Those in God’s family are inside the arc of His Church - the Catholic Church. It is ONLY within the apostolic Church that you will find the new Pascal lamb being, Jesus crucified being served to the members in the pascal feast of the Eucharist (during the Catholic mass). This is what happened at passover in the upper room when all sat down to receive Christ’s precious body and blood.

You are not inside Ralph - you are outside of The Church and no matter what songs you sing or no matter what you imagine you are not in communion with Christ’s Church nor with Christ unless you are inside His Church receiving the REAL FOOD and REAL DRINK of Christ’s body and blood. What part of John 6 do you not understand? YOU MUST eat the body of Christ and drink His blood. Singing songs and wishful thinking is not going to cut it. The angel of death will not pass you by UNLESS you are inside the protection of His Church AND partaking of the divine pascal meal.

Better hurry Ralph the flood is coming…

James

The authority (or magic) that the “priest” has to change this piece of bread and wine into the “body and blood of Jesus Christ” came from where? Ralph
THE HOLY SPIRIT. More specifically, “by the power” of the Holy Spirit.

And you’re right, Ralphy. There is an “authority” that the priest has.
Don’t try this yourself. You’ll be disappointed.

The authority (or magic) that the “priest” has to change this piece of bread and wine into the “body and blood of Jesus Christ” came from where? Ralph
It’s no magic ralphy - its a divine promise and we have told you this over and over again in the forum but you want to mock it. But someday it will be too late for you to re-enter back to the Catholic Church Ralph so you better make some decisions soon before “that day” that approaches like a thief in the night.

The authority of “loosing and binding” given to Peter by Christ is the root autority for all the apostolic ecclesial functions. The commandment “eat my body drink my blood” given at the last supper was binding on the apostles as well as authoritative. But the real authority comes when Jesus returns after the resurrection to proclaim to the apostles that all things have been given to Him by the father and when he blows on them his authority. This was then given subsequently to new apostles through physical laying on of hands and apostolic blessing. This is how the Catholic Bishops and priests each received their apostolic spiritual authority - by physical laying on of hands and blessing by a prior apostolic successor that approved them personally.

The Protestants never thought through their rebellion and forgot about the apostolic succession and so never attempted to hijack it. If Luther had been a bishop rather than just an ordained monk he might have been able to get away with installing new bishops but God prevented him from ever having that authority and so it was impossible to hijack it.

Men never learn - God’s authority can never be hijacked and now that the Protestants are starting to finally realize 500 years too late that their naive and simpleton ordination rites are a joke and are nothing but a bunch of empty suits shaking each other’s hands and giving fake authority to teach that means nothing at all to God or man. And now its too late to try to hijack an apostolic authority since time has passed them by and the false sects are all dieing in separation from the one true church - rotted fruit cursed and whithered just like Jesus did to the fig tree for not serving Him.
