The authority (or magic) that the “priest” has to change this piece of bread and wine into the “body and blood of Jesus Christ” came from where? Ralph
There is no need to use insulting words like “magic”. We do not use “magic”. We are Christians.

I’m still wondering about the one who is no longer afraid.

Why is ralphy so hostile to Catholicism?
I am really not hostile to Roman catholics. I have brothers an sisters in my family, a total of eight and they are Roman catholics. It saddens me that they are caught up in the false teaching of the Roman catholic church. One of my brothers told me not to email him about the Bible anymore. What is he going by? “church teaching”, how sad. Ralph

Would you please explain to me then just how he does it, or do you know. I am sure someone must know. Maybe it just seems like magic, sorry if I offended you with that word. Ralph

What is the best term to use, when describing Catholic supernatural phenomena, that cannot be proven as having taken place?

It’s no magic ralphy - its a divine promise and we have told you this over and over again in the forum but you want to mock it. But someday it will be too late for you to re-enter back to the Catholic Church Ralph so you better make some decisions soon before “that day” that approaches like a thief in the night.

The authority of “loosing and binding” given to Peter by Christ is the root autority for all the apostolic ecclesial functions. The commandment “eat my body drink my blood” given at the last supper was binding on the apostles as well as authoritative. But the real authority comes when Jesus returns after the resurrection to proclaim to the apostles that all things have been given to Him by the father and when he blows on them his authority. This was then given subsequently to new apostles through physical laying on of hands and apostolic blessing. This is how the Catholic Bishops and priests each received their apostolic spiritual authority - by physical laying on of hands and blessing by a prior apostolic successor that approved them personally.

The Protestants never thought through their rebellion and forgot about the apostolic succession and so never attempted to hijack it. If Luther had been a bishop rather than just an ordained monk he might have been able to get away with installing new bishops but God prevented him from ever having that authority and so it was impossible to hijack it.

Men never learn - God’s authority can never be hijacked and now that the Protestants are starting to finally realize 500 years too late that their naive and simpleton ordination rites are a joke and are nothing but a bunch of empty suits shaking each other’s hands and giving fake authority to teach that means nothing at all to God or man. And now its too late to try to hijack an apostolic authority since time has passed them by and the false sects are all dieing in separation from the one true church - rotted fruit cursed and whithered just like Jesus did to the fig tree for not serving Him.

Can you explain to me how a “priest” can change this piece of bread and this wine into the body and blood of christ, as I asked someone else, or were you never curious. Ralph

You are such a phoney, Mr. Ralph. A counterfeit. A fraud.

This thread has become about YOU. Do you like it? It’s called EGO.

It’s a grand mystery, is what you will get.

What is amazing to me, is that the Catholic Church claims that her priests have the Christ given power to summon the Holy Spirit to change bread into Christ’s flesh…yet, yet…

Nowhere is this found in the Bible, where Christ says something even close to, ’ priests in my Church will have the power to turn bread into my flesh…’

What is found in the Bible, is the apostles were tasked with going around, healing lepers and raising the dead, yet priests don’t go around raising the dead, now do they?

Summary…
  1. Priests have the power to transform bread into the flesh of Christ, at every single Mass, all over the world, every day. This power is not found in the Bible and the Church insists they get all of their powers from Christ himself.
  2. The Bible clearly states that the apostles raised the dead. Amazingly, one of the few miraculous powers that was actually written down, wasn’t passed down to the Church priests!!!

Yeah right. Broken down, it doesn’t make much sense, now does it?

You are presenting a false authority. The bible is not an authority - it is a liturgy to be taught and prayed. No where in the Catholic Bible does it ever say that it is its own authority nor does it say it contains all of God’s words.

As for raising the dead Catholic priests do this every day they hear confession and absolve grave sins. The spiritually dead come back to the land of the living.

You are creating arbitrary standards.

Another fallacy exposed…

The bread and wine are offered up to God in the mass as a sacrifice using a rite that is derived from the words spoken in the gospels through the apostolic powers and authority of the priesthood given to Peter and the apostles. God then transforms the bread and wine into the sacrifice of His Son’s body, blood, soul and divinity under the appearances of bread and wine.

Now let me ask you a question Ralphy.

How do Protestant ministers and preachers change ordinary men into ordained “men of God” who have the authority to teach God’s word and properly divide it? Who has the authority to do this? 😉

Quite good, James. And quite true.

But of course, poorlittlemuchafraid would like to see some entertainment.
Raising the dead. But before you raise the dead, you’d better have a very good reason.
And that’s all God’s business.

Back to the topic. IS CONFESSION NOT NECESSARY?

Ask the woman at the well.

Again, why the hostility toward Catholicism?

And your point is what? Jerry where do you go to get the precious blood of the lamb to sprinkle on you Jerry? I mean really and physically where do you get it? It is real.

Catholics do what Jesus actually commanded and eat Christ’s body and DRINK his blood in the sacrament Of Eucharist (body and blood of Christ). We don’t pour the cup of salvation on our robes - we drink it and let God’s grace infuse into us - not cover us just on the outside as if a veneer.

But first and foremost you must first have possession of the precious blood and only the Catholic Church and a few remaining apostolic churches have it (Orthodox and a few smaller sects).

James
you are misguided

What is the best term to use, when describing Catholic supernatural phenomena, that cannot be proven as having taken place?
How do you find the courage or even the will to live?

Since Catholicism (paraphrasing your words) insults your intelligence, you must be very smart. Can you explain who created the universe?

you are misguided
I am certain that the pharisees and the lawyers said the same thing to the followers of Jesus. Are you now suggesting that we should ignore legitimate divine apostolic authority and follow you?

James

Prove it.

By the way, is confession not necessary? Does it say that in the bible?
It doesn’t say that confession to a properly ordained Catholic priest and done with the correct matter and form in order to be valid, is necessary, now does it?
🤷

How do you find the courage or even the will to live?

Can you explain who created the universe?
  1. Life is grand and very short, enjoy it.
  2. Unlike you, I don’t pretend to have the answers, as to how the universe came to be.
Now for my question;

By what means did your God spring into existence?

God has no beginning and no end.
And he is not “our” God, he is GOD

God has no beginning and no end.
And he is not “our” God, he is GOD
Prove that what you say is true.

You can’t.

It is your and your faiths wishful thinking.

It is your and your faiths answer to the unanswerable.

It is desperation, at its worst, in trying to silence Occam’s razor.
