Dear khanzmajid,

I am sorry I can’t help you with the process of moving to some other more open country. I know there is a process for it, but I know nothing of the steps involved in that process. I have only the following good news for you (and you might think it not very good at all), that news is that if what you are interested in is a relationship with Jesus, and not just a new country, that you can recognize Jesus as Lord of your life in any circumstance. Many of the earliest Christians did just that on pain (and suffering) of death, and sadly sometimes today people do still pay that price. I pray that such would not be the case for you and that God would make for you another way. But, whatever the future brings you in this life, know that just as God was faithful to those Christians who were martyrs in our past, so too God is faithful to all who surrender their lives to him still today. His gifts to us sometimes, but not always, include earthly blessings. But always, his blessing includes the gift of living in a new and secure relationship with him that will bring new meaning to your life today and for all of eternity. We don’t always see this in the way that we might like, but we can see it through the eyes of faith just as the scriptures declare: “faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see” (Hebrews 11:1).

Indeed the 11th chapter of the letter to the Hebrews, tells the story of others who came to faith, many in situations similarly desperate to your own. Perhaps their story will provide some comfort, or at least encouragement for you:
Hebrews 11
13All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth. 14People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own. 15If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. 16Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.
In reality all Christians are people without a country. It matters not what earthly nation considers us a citizen, our real home is made secure for us not on this planet, but with God as a citizen of his kingdom. We don’t become that by moving to some particular spot on the globe, but by making God sovereign of our life. Jesus invites us to find that relationship with God secured by our connection with him. We trust Jesus to stand with us should Satan ever accuse us of not being perfectly holy or having always passed every test in life. Those who have put their faith in Jesus know when we stand before God at the time of the judgment of our lives that while we are called to live holy lives and not sin, that “if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One” (1 John 2:1). He becomes our advocate with God, and even more than that he actually makes atonement for us so that “if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).

So, khanzmajid, strange as it may sound, that’s all you really need to do to convert. Let Jesus know that you are willing to trust in him by surrendering your life to him. Again we have this promise:
“The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
(Romans 10:8-10)
This is not to say that everything will be wonderful or in any way easier. In fact, life as a follower of Jesus is often harder. In the words of Jesus, “Brothers and sisters will betray one another and have each other put to death. Parents will betray their own children, and children will turn against their parents and have them killed. Everyone will hate you because of me. But if you remain faithful until the end, you will be saved” (Matthew 10:21-23).

The life of the very first Christians showed just how prophetic those words would prove to be:
Many of these people were tortured, but they refused to be released. They were sure that they would get a better reward when the dead are raised to life. Others were made fun of and beaten with whips, and some were chained in jail. Still others were stoned to death or sawed in two or killed with swords. Some had nothing but sheep skins or goat skins to wear. They were poor, mistreated, and tortured. The world did not deserve these good people, who had to wander in deserts and on mountains and had to live in caves and holes in the ground. All of them pleased God because of their faith! But still they died without being given what had been promised. This was because God had something better in store for us.
(Hebrews 11:35b-40a)

khanzmajid, I don’t share the above to scare you, but to let you know that desperate as your situation is, you are not alone. God both understands and will be with you in and through it. On top of that, I invite you to read these words from 1 Corinthians 15 as if they were spoken to you personally:1My friends, I want you to remember the message that I preached and that you believed and trusted. 2You will be saved by this message, if you hold firmly to it. But if you don’t, your faith was all for nothing.

3I told you the most important part of the message exactly as it was told to me. That part is:
Christ died for our sins,
as the Scriptures say.
4He was buried,
and three days later
he was raised to life,
as the Scriptures say.
5Christ appeared to Peter, then to the twelve.
6After this, he appeared
to more than five hundred
other followers.
Most of them are still alive,
but some have died.
7He also appeared to James,
and then to all
of the apostles.

50My friends, I want you to know that our bodies of flesh and blood will decay. This means that they cannot share in God’s kingdom, which lasts forever. 51I will explain a mystery to you… 53Our dead and decaying bodies will be changed into bodies that won’t die or decay. 54The bodies we now have are weak and can die. But they will be changed into bodies that are eternal. Then the Scriptures will come true,

“Death has lost the battle!
55Where is its victory?
Where is its sting?”

56Sin is what gives death its sting, and the Law is the power behind sin. 57But thank God for letting our Lord Jesus Christ give us the victory!

58My dear friends, stand firm and don’t be shaken. Always keep busy working for the Lord. You know that everything you do for him is worthwhile.

Peace be with you, khanzmajid. And, “Above all else, you must live in a way that brings honor to the good news about Christ. Then, whether I visit you or not, I will hear that all of you think alike. I will know that you are working together and that you are struggling side by side to get others to believe the good news. Be brave when you face your enemies. Your courage will show them that they are going to be destroyed, and it will show you that you will be saved. God will make all of this happen, and he has blessed you. Not only do you have faith in Christ, but you suffer for him” (Philippians 1:27-29).

QUOTE=Ridgerunner;1581993]
I have a very good friend whose family are Muslims from a Middle Eastern country I should probably not mention. He himself was born in the Middle East and spent a great deal of his life there, though he now lives in the U.S. His conversion to Catholicism (in this country) was, by his telling of it, motivated by the contrast between the sincere belief among Catholics he knew and the utter indifference to Islam (despite public practice) he witnessed among his huge and prestigious extended family in the Middle East. Obviously, I cannot even post the family name here, for their safety. Islam tolerates widespread religious indifference, but it does not tolerate admission to indifference.
Your commentary is very inspiring and lends hope. Can you imagine if these Muslims who convert if and when they are called by God to give witness one day as in the day of Pentecost, how many great Saints from the Muslim convert community would be venerated?

I view these brave Muslim converts on a par with the apostles when they feared for their lives before Pentecost from the Jews and the Ceasars.

God bless you for sharing and lending hope in these times:)

Khanzmijad…

If you believe in Christ, you are already in His kingdom…you are panicking…do not do this. The Lord is with you and loves you and your family.

Pray to Him to cover your family with the protection of His Precious Blood. You can do a search on the internet and there is a Catholic prayer(s) you can learn and eventually, praying to learn the power of His blood, you will come to simply call on Him to protect you.

We are aware that there are so many who want to come to Christ, and are doing so. I am not saying anything else here, but I know how some are finding ways to communicate to other Muslims. They are having common experiences…supernatural.

Someday, believe me, it is coming, that this militant Islam will implode within itself. It could be a war between itself and the Occidental world. I pray not.

But as someone else shared here, you are already baptized through desire. You are baptized. Your true freedom is found in Christ.

We love you. Know Christians around the world are praying for the Muslim people and we understand if any protest against violence – and are not even wanting to leave Islam-- they could be killed. God knows that.

God alone can judge the human heart. I am sure in the next life we will see many Muslims.

Khaz…

You are already a Christian…baptism of desire. Is there any way you can go to American consulate? I would not trust anyone from your country who works there. Religious persecution.

I can PM you.

The only safe place in this world is the Immaculate Heart of Mary. She is the greatest support of our faith in Christ. With Mary’s heart, we are joined to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

None of us can help you to earn refugee or asylum seeker status.

You have to speak to the embassy of the country you hope to seek asylum in.

Br Syed,
your private message box is full so i am unable to message you, i have a meeting with a lady at 4pm tomorrow and will let you know how it goes.
G-d bless you

Only the individual can know if how they are called to martyrdom.

One of the most beautiful things i have ever heard is people saying they are to be living martyrs.

They live in the faith of their heart trying to keep separate form the errors of the world.

Surely if a humble man lives his days for his faith and dies at his appointed time he has died a martyr.

It is often the most humble people in my life that have a huge impact on me encouraging me as living witness to the call on us.

I think for many in hard times the beatitudes are words that if they can touch your heart bring peace and strength to endure. For Christians i guess nothing compares to the suffering narrated of Yeshua (pbwh) last days.

Peace

I hope all those abused Muslim woman with cut off limbs and body parts for running away from their abusive husbands will one day be taken in by good Christians and even if they choose to still be Muslim, at least understand the love of Christ 🙂
