SPLIT: Why confess to a priest?

I am going to the cathedral now! I will pick up a newsletter with all the phone numbers. Confessions are this afternoon up to 17.30 local time. I am going through with the others to confession and if there is a need of abigger confession I will make an appointement. After confession I could attend the mass. After the mass I am going to introduce myself to the parish priest. I will tell him that I am coming back after a long time and if he thinks that I should have a private appointement that could be arranged. I wrote to the other priest in London this morning I said I was going today for confession. He said I should go for confession. There is a group every thursday night at that cathedral for those who want to know more about the catholic faith. It will start in september. I am going to be there! So pray for me! It is important! I will let you know on tuesday next week what’s happening! Tomorrow and monday the library is going to be closed I am using a public computer. God bless you Italia

I went for confession, I stayed for the vigil mass and I received comunion.

I have received the book Catholicism and Fundamentalism by Karl Keating this morning. I want to know more about the catholic faith and on september 6 at the Saint John’s catholic cathedral there is a course three hours in the evening every thursday and I will go there next week on thursday at 19.00 local time.

Yes, my family is Italian. I am an American with a great love and respect for my ancestral history. I consider myself Italian because it is my blood. My grandmother came here from Tiana in 1916. My grandfather even earlier, sometime in the 1800’s.

My family name is Gliottone. Other branches are Anzevino and Visconti.

Do you live in southern California? Do you have fellowship when you go to church? Do you talk to each other? I have noticed that when mass finish they all run away! Do you know what fellowship means? They should stay after the mass and talk to each other! Why don’t they do that! That’s make me angry and frustrated! I don’t feel I want to go back there! I will rather be at my own! I don’t need people like that! I don’t want them!!! I will go to that meeting on september 6 at 19.00 my time 13.00 your time if you are in the pacific coast, and I will tell them about fellowship! They don’t what is it! They are not used to have fellowship in the church! They shouldn’t run away!!! God bless you Italia

Welcome to the Catholic Church! People run away partly because the parking lot needs to be emptied before the next Mass. Parishes tend to be so large that “fellowship” must be deployed to small groups that meet outside regular Mass times. You might think of looking for something like that in your parish. I’m tight as glue with my sisters from “Cornerstone.”
 
Yes! You are probably right! I should go to these groups! There is one starting soon on september 6 every thursday evening from 19.00 to 21.00 local time and another one on september 16 is about hospitality! The first one is for newcomers into the catholic faith you can share your faith and at the end there is a common prayer. I want to go along! I will take Karl keating book with me What catholics really believe! And I will quote what he writes in this book. I haven’t start to read it yet! I think is a good idea that I take there that book! What do you think? I have already shown that book to two priests!

I said to one of the priests Do you know that Jesus is coming back? I said We are in the last days! He said No! Only the Father knows! They are prophecies! Things are happening in the world! These are the sign of Jesus second coming! It was during my confession on saturday and I was discussing with him about Jesus second coming! Jesus is coming back! And we are indeed in the last days!

It is safe to say that all of us are in “the last days.” My last day on earth could be tomorrow. 35 more years: max. The priest was wrong: Jesus IS coming. He was also right: Jesus himself told us that no one knows except the Father. We are to live as if it will be today. People have wasted a lot of time over the past two thousand years predicting when this will be. Ain’t happened yet. If we needed to know the day and the hour, he would have made it clear.

You’re assumption is that God isn’t present in the Sacrament.

Picture Moses before the burning bush. Could Moses turn away from the bush to supposedly to more direct to God?
