quick question, I know a parent can’t be a sponsor of mtheir child. first of all, does this apply even if youo’re an adult?

second question, could a child sponsor a parent?

The requirements for a sponsor are the same no matter who is being sponsored: over 16, fully initiated, in good standing with the Church, not the parent of the one being baptized.

It is not forbidden. It’s not necessarily a good idea.

My mother’s father converted to Catholicism after his children were grown. My mother and one of her brothers were his sponsors. My uncle enjoyed people’s reaction when he told them he had just been to his godson’s 50th wedding anniversary. 😃
