Look out-if the secular press get ahold of this the headline will be “Pope says its okay to miss Mass on Sunday to watch football instead”😃

The Pope offered his “best wishes” to the Italian organizers, who are hoping to be chosen as hosts for the 2024 Olympic Games. But the 78-year-old Pontiff added with a smile,** “I won’t be around.”**

“Dear friends, best wishes for Rome’s bid to host the 2024 Olympic Games,” he said. “***I will not be there. ***May the Lord bless all of you and your families.”
It is an interesting note to this but I don’t think too much can be made of this. Maybe he just means he would not be watching it on TV or go to the games. I don’t know if the Pope went to the games when I believe Turin hosted the Winter Olympics a few years back.

The tide in the Church keeps on changing, which is to be expected in a rapidly changing world, but the Church should distance itself as much as possible from things in the secular world and focus on the salvation of souls.

LOVE! ❤️
