🤔 What sports did you do when you were younger…if you stopped at some stage might you take it up again?
I cycle raced ,road racing from the age of 7-17 …
no real group sports since then but I get the urge every now and then !Some day…

I played baseball as a catcher in junior/senior high school and amateur leagues like the American Legion, or with anyone who I could get to play out in the back yard. I also played football American style (in high school), also basketball in school there. I love swimming but not as part of a team. I got conned into trying to box in the navy, but that only lasted until they put Godzilla in the ring with me.
I would love to play again, but I need to find the fountain of youth and subtract about fifty years from my age. (I still swim though)

Tennis. Somewhere I have a trophy from Motorola Tennis club.

Bowling. Maintained a 190 average for a few years when we had League at work.

Noeadays, I’m happy to get up and around.

I’ll challenge you to a good old fashioned coffee chugging. LOL

I was terrible at sports all through school 😠, uncoordinated with poor depth perception. When my friends and I rode our bikes, I was the first to get out of breath. I got fit when I became an electrician, though, being on my feet all day, and climbing ladders and lifting heavy things. As the years have passed, I’m in better shape now than some of the former athletes I knew from school :weight_lifting_man:.

I picked up soccer in high school. That was the first time they had organized soccer in Montana. I made the university club team, but I was rock bottom.

In I college I started playing Ultimate frisbee. I did have some success at that, it’s how I met my wife! (yes, I’ve found my ultimate bride) We traveled around the western US competing quite a bit. I finally gave up on Thanksgiving when I was 50. I made my goal of 4 decades of Ultimate.

Here’s a video. Ultimate is now a professional sport.

I ran track for two years in high school, running long distance. Actually, in junior high, I ran long distance AND sprints…our 4x1 relay had some success. But in high school I quit after having issues with shin splints and knees. Also, we had gotten a new head coach and I didn’t like him that much.

I always wanted to play soccer, tennis, or swim, but going to a rural Catholic high school meant that our options were limited to volleyball, basketball and track/field for girls. There weren’t even any club sports I could do. My parents made us kids participate in sports in junior high so that we would at least get a taste of them, and then we could decide for ourselves in high school. I hated volleyball and basketball, so track was my only option.

My second brother was the one who got all the athletic genes in the family. lol

I’m getting choked up watching Ultimate videos. Man, I loved that sport.

Tennis and racquetball. I still play tennis.

I also liked roller and ice-skating and still do this too with my youngest.

Softball, tennis, track, basketball. The only one at which I wasn’t very good was volleyball. Just for some reason I didn’t take to it.

I played football (quarterback).I wasn’t very good but the desire and heart was there.

I was moderately competent at tennis. Never won anything, though.

Really should give that another try. It’s been decades, but I remember that I enjoyed it.

Hey Starlady,I loved long distance running in highschool, cross country .Some times I run now instead of walking, just to keep my foot in it.
I can swim, but the only style I’m good at is side stroke and usually just the one side 😅
That is something I want to try next week ,to get to the indoor pool.
My mum bought a large table tennis table when I was a teenager,so a few of us arnt bad at that ,and it’s good fun 🙂

Standing back…you’re to be respected 😅 I played a few games of field hockey …I love how fast and furious it was .

Yeah, it was fun. Wasn’t on a team, just really enjoyed it during gym class.

Softball (I always played first base), basketball (I played back in the day girls only played half court), track, volleyball,
swimming and tennis. Oh, I almost forgot bowling!
