As I suspected :yup:A few things:
(1) When you say “Anglican & Protestant” you’re being needlessly redundant,
(2) the word “requisite” means “necessary” so yes, I guess you were, and
(3) protestants have some valid sacraments (namely baptism and matrimony), but not THE Blessed Sacrament. For that, you’d need valid Holy Orders, with Apostolic Succession.
But, the good news is, all the valid sacraments can be yours for the low price of RCIA and confirmation.![]()
- Not really. Anglicans are both Catholic and Protestant (the Via Media as it were) between Catholicism and Reformed Churches such as Lutheranism. So noting the distinction is hardly redundant (though I can see how a Catholic might see it as such).
- As I said, requisite. A thread doesn’t go by where Anglicans or Protestants are involved where someone out of the blue will respond as you do (even though posters like Compline and myself have heard it dozens if not hundreds of times before at this point
). But as a Catholic it’s not wrong of you to reiterate the point, as it would be the proper Catholic view of it. - As Compline stated, we do have the Blessed Sacrament in our churches, even if the RCC states otherwise. Since we’re not under the authority of the Bishop of Rome his opinion on the matter, matters not.
