Spouses of Mary

Know of any saints whom Mary made a spouse? I know of Blessed Joseph, of course, and at least one more saint (who I cannot recall right now, but who Mary gave a lock of her hair). Anyone know of any more?

I think that the group here needs more information. Personally I have heard nothing like this.

Which Mary are you speaking of…and what are the sources for these stories?

The one we Catholics refer to as the Spouse of the Holy Spirit… and I read the account on the internet some 3 years ago, can’t remember on which site though.

Well then you would be referring to Our Blessed mother…and since your only source is an internet site…and you couple that with the fact that no one here has heard of such a thing…I’d say it’s pretty safe to say that the information is bogus.

Mary was Married to Joseph. At the Crucifixion she was given to John who cared for her the rest of her time here on earth. Then she was assumed into heaven. No additional (earthly) spouses…

I don’t know you well enough to judge your motive. You’ve offered no proof of your claim that the Virgin Mother of God was married to anyone other than St. Joseph. Your story about the lock of hair is not something that I’ve ever heard, and I’m a pretty well-read Catholic. If she appeared as an apparition to some saint or another, I suppose it’s possible that she may have given some of her hair to him, but I still don’t see how this would be any indication of marriage.

The internet is full of myths and urban legends. If you found a source for your claim, we might be able to more easily dissect it.

And at the foot of the cross, John was given to Mary as her ‘son’ and she was given to John (and all of us) as a Mother! --not a wife…

I see nothing in the link that suggests that he was a “spiritual spouse” or any kind of spouse to Mary, the Mother of our Lord. It says that he held a devotion to her, but nothing more.

Mary’s spouses were only the Holy Spirit (in a spiritual sense) and Joseph (in an earthly sense).

I think the OP is just misinformed (source is wrong), misunderstood (we don’t know what the OP is trying to ask), or the OP is misunderstanding something else (OP interpreting the source incorrectly). Which it is, I do not know.

And unless the OP can provide some sort of source for the claim, we won’t know how to answer other than what I wrote above.

Actually the Article at the link says:
" He received the surname “Joseph” on account of a vision in which the Blessed Virgin accepted him as her betrothed."

Unfortunately if gives no further information on the vision…
