Sprinkling with Water at Mass?

The last time in my parish was the Feast of the Baptism of Our Lord. Of course, the absolute worst song was used for the rite - “Wade in the Water”. Pray for me. I’m formulating a letter to my pastor. There are other issues, so no - not just a quick convo.

Also, I’m guessing that the Liturgy forum is dominated by Latin Mass goers lol. Makes sense.

That’s the first time I’ve ever read anyone getting that impression. However, when you have a question about liturgy, TLM-goers are perhaps more likely to pipe up, as they tend to be quite knowledgeable about the liturgy.

Yup. Easter AND Baptism of Our Lord. The song has nothing to do with the sacrament of Baptism.

Are there any guidelines on when this should be happening?

There’s a “devilometer” by the entrance. When it starts reading high, the priest knows the sprinkling is necessary :crazy_face:
