SSPX and independent Masses

I was wondering if you are allowed to go to SSPX Masses or even independent Masses without taking their sacraments, in other words (educational purposes).

As far as I know the Church allows us to go to Orthodox Churches and protestant services, for educational purposes (If I am not mistaken)

The reason I ask is because a friend invited me to one of these Masses. I dont understand why you would be able to attend a protestant service but not SSPX Mass or independent without taking part of the sacraments.
 
You can even receive Holy Communion at an SSPX mass. It’s an illegal mass, but the Eucharist is valid. What you’re not allowed to do is to align yourself with their positions.
