SSPX in schism? Can we attend their Masses?

Sorry, try again.

Cardinal Castrillon is the official spokesman of the Church for traditionalist/SSPX matters.

If the Cardinal President of the Commission delegated by the pope to handle these matters says there is no schism, there is no schism.

Danger of schism? Sure. Of course. Are the four bishops schismatic? Nope. Not at present.

No need to try again: the decree of the Servant of God Pope John Paul II has not been officially dealt with. An interview in a paper does not constitute a reversal of that decree. You can argue until the cows come home, but this is only an opinion of one cardinal.

When it’s clarified, it will be clarified (and we will all rejoice that the schism is over).

It’s not just the opinion of one cardinal…it’s the view of the cardinal specifically DELEGATED to handle these matters.

And calling John Paul a “Servant of God” doesn’t make your case any stronger. Do you refer to Pius XII with the same title every time you mention him (let alone calling him Pius the Great, though arguably his encyclicals are far weighter than John Paul’s).

And as I’ve said before, if you’re going to follow this line of thinking then “eucharistic hospitality” should be just peachy to you because Kasper is the person assigned to deal with the protestants.

Pretty much, yeah, I do. And I’m not attempting to make my case stronger via the “Servant of God.”
