Mgr Bernard Fellay officially announced to members of the SSPX the nomination of a theological Commission specializing in the study of Vatican II, which includes Frs. Patrick de la Rocque, Gregoire Célier, Thierry Gaudray, Alvaro Calderón and Jean-Michel Gleize. This confirms information coming from sources close to the FSSPX in Toulouse and the Studium of the Rev. Dominican Fathers of the same city regarding long hours of doctrinal discussions which took place in a University of Rome, on several occasions, between theologians of the SSPX and Roman theologians such as Cardinal Cottier, discussions related to the new mass, oecumenism and collegiality. Fr. Jean-Michel Gleize, professor with the international seminary of Ecône, is the author of an erudite translation of the book of Cajetan, “The Successor of Peter,” accompanied by scholarly commentary. Fr. Patrick de la Rocque, Prior of the priory of Gragnague in Haute-Garonne, is editor of “The Problem of the Liturgical Reform” (Clovis editions, 2001) and “From Ecumenism to the Silent Apostasy, Twenty-Five Years of Pontificate” (2004). This news is very encouraging: these discussions prove that the Vatican is taking very seriously the many serious doctrinal criticisms of the SSPX against the Council; by the same token, one can think that the agreements which are “gradually” being prepared will not mask the doctrinal divergences.

Hopefully the SSPX will see where they have misunderstood and misinterpreted certain points.

Or maybe they will see that the SSPX was right all along!
Of course the SSPX has been right all along. No Catholic in their right mind believes that the ecumenism practiced by John Paul II and Kasper is true ecumenism. I mean think about it: A Pope inviting member of assorted false religions - the worshippers of the Great Thumb, snake worshippers, witch doctors, etc. - to Assisi and providing them with a room where they can offer their false worship (a mortal sin against the first commandment) to their respective “gods” in the hopes that the true God will look upon this blasphemy and grant “world peace”. Some Catholics may not openly resist such actions, but without a doubt no Catholic in their right mind would consider this as anything but an outrage.

God has used the SSPX to protect the Mass from the hierarchy - all of whom pretended that it had been abrogated and replaced with the Novus Ordo, and who did everthing they could to supress it… God used the SSPX as one of the primary instrunments of resistence to protect the Mass. Finally, after 37 years, Rome admited the truth and vendicated the Traditionalists, to the dismay and confusion of the blind followers of the blind.

Similarly, while the majority of the hierarchy has been engaged in false ecumenism, which, as predicted by Pope Pius XI, has been “destroying the foundations of the Catholic faith”, the SSPX and other like minded Traditionalists has been “holding fast to Tradition” and resisting these novelties.

While the majority of the hierarchy has been preaching “religious liberty” - a herersy condemned many times by the pre-conciliar Pope - the SSPX has been resisting this error and teaching what the Church has always taught.

We can be certain that just as Rome has now admitted the truth about the Old Mass (which is now beginning to make a comeback), so too will it one day abandon the false ecumenism as practiced by John Paul II and his point man Kasper, and will return to Tradition. How can we be 100% certain of this? Because our Lord promised that the gates of hell shall not prevail.

One way in which God punishes his people is by giving them corrupt leaders. It is interesting that just when God unleashes this particular punishment upon the Church, the devil did all he could to promote blind obedience. The devil is no dummy.

But, fortunately, we now have a new Pope who is, slowly but surely, putting things back in order. Whereas our new Pope has always been firmly Traditional with respect to the mass, he has, unfortunately, been somewhat of a liberal theologically. He “came of age” during a time of tremendous theological confusion in the Church, and did not come out of it unscathed. Hopefull the dialogue between himself and the SSPX will help him see more clearly these modern errors, and come back fully to Tradition.

One more point: As if it was necessary, one additional confirmation that the SSPX has been right all along and is being used by God to maintain the faith, is the incredible hatred that the devil has managed to stir up against them. The Protestant heretics who reject almost every dogma are affectionately called “our separated brethren”, or ever simply “ou brethren”; the heretical and schismatic Orthodox are called “our sister Church”; the Jews are said to have “their own covenant”, which is “salvific for them”, and which “has never been revoked by God”. In fact, we are even told that it is no longer theologically appropriate to attempt to convert them. The Muslims “with us worship the one merciful God”, and there is “great esteem” for the Hindus and Buddhists.

All of this praise and affection for heretics, schismatics and members of false religions, yet the SSPX and the SSPX alone is condemned as “schismatics” who are to be absolutely avoided at all costs.

Why? Because, as St. Basil wrote during the Arian crisis: “Only one offense is now vigorously punished, an accurate observance of our fathers’ traditions”.

:rotfl: Why am I not surprised at this post?

I was wondering why it took so long to get a response. And I was prepared for worse 👍
I think your post speaks for itself. Sometimes further analysis gets in the way. BTW, sorry it took me so long to respond. I’ll try and be quicker next time.😉

Please pray daily for all seminarians and priests in Traditional Orders (FSSP, Institute of Christ the King, etc including the SSPX). Pray for holy vocations!! 👍
