I have a question, then. If an SSPX confirmation is valid, what of one at an “independent” chapel. It’s not part of the SSPX but is essentially the same thing. The main difference is that the SSPX uses the 1962 missal I believe, and this one uses the one from sometime in the '50’s, with two confiteors. I was confirmed in one two years ago, and have since refrained from receiving communion as I was then informed that it wasn’t a real confirmation. If I were to go to confession would I then be able to take communion again? I have asked priests, but they all seem to have different answers.
