Off-topic but I just wanted to comment.

There is one parishoner who travels two states away once a month to attend our FSSP parish.

Such faith and love of Tradition.

Puts a tear in my eye. šŸ˜ƒ
MOre likeā€¦ he needs a new life. Thatā€™s inspirational for sure, but going a little bit over the top.

Now maybe if he was one of the states bordering Rhode Island or somethingā€¦ šŸ˜‰

Well I can see where your drawing that conclusion.

But coming from a trad speaking for a tradā€¦I can totally see the pain, agony, and utter suffering somone might experience attending a NO weekly. Poor manā€¦

I know for certain that If I could financially do soā€¦Iā€™d travel to Rome every week to attend the TLM (if it wasnt offered anywhere else).

Some people have differnt prioritiesā€¦ā€œover the topā€ cant be applied to everyone at once.

It seems to me that the SSPX and the Sedavacantists are much more likely to reunite with Eastern Orthodoxy.
This is very true. The SSPX issues run much, much deeper than the Mass. They are similar to Old Catholics or the Oriental Orthodox who erroneously thought certain Councils ushered in a new religion. Theyā€™re very unwavering, fundamentalist cling to their limited and skewed view of Tradition is similar also to that of the Eastern Orthodoxā€“which is why I see full reununion between any of these groups as a very long shot.

Not likely. SSPX-type traditionalists tend to be wary, at times even quite hostile towards ecumenism, acceptance of which is a prerequisite for reunification with the Orthodox.

To the OP:

Do these two churches simply offer Indult masses ā€“ i.e., just a once-a-week event? Or are they *communities with a full Indult ā€œparish lifeā€ ā€“ *with weekday Masses; traditional devotions; baptisms, weddings, and funerals according to the 1962 missal; teaching about the Latin Mass in catechism classes; etc.? The former are fairly common, but the latter are very rare. (I had a thread going where we could list all the ones in North America, but it was wiped out in the great server disaster a while back. šŸ˜¦ )

Iā€™ve heard that some people choose SSPX chapels over the Indult because they want their families to be part of a full, traditional parish community. Of course, SSPX chapels arenā€™t actually parishes, but they tend to have a lot more ā€œparish-like featuresā€ than the average Indult community does. Many even have schools.

Not saying I agree with this reasoning, but I can see how these factors could tip the balance for some people who were already leaning that way.
