Sorry I’m kind of new to this… 🙂 - and don’t know much about this topic…
if I were to go to Latin Mass around the US/Canada,how likely would it be an SSPX Mass? are they a majority/minority? if it is one, would it be clear?
I don’t really support some of their positions…😛

"Since 1988 it has been in a state of dispute with the Holy See, which in that same year stated that Archbishop Lefebvre incurred automatic excommunication by consecrating four SSPX members as bishops against the expressed will of the Pope and after a canonical warning that he would be excommunicated for doing so.

Despite the valid ordination, the priests of the Society are forbidden, under the Code of Canon Law, from celebrating Mass or administering the Sacraments due to the illicit nature of their ordination."

I believe it’s very important to obey the Pope.

Hi Monica, Here is one of a few sites that will help find a Latin Mass…
web2.airmail.net/carlsch/MaterDei/churches.htm

I looked at my area on the site, and it didn’t list the SSPX Chapel or Independent Chapel here. So I assume the site only lists approved Masses.

You can go to the SSPX site and find out where their Chapels are.

The easiest way to find out if there is a EF Mass (Latin) in your area would be to go to your Diocese website, or call them. Essentially, if it is in a Diocese church it is not going to be SSPX.

There are several other groups other than the SSPX that have the Mass in Latin, so again, if it is in a Diocese church it will not be one of these groups either.

For other Latin masses that are approved by the Pope check out the FSSP. www.fssp.org/ Sometimes you might have to go to the church you are interested in and call them or check out their website since any priest can preform the Mass in the EF now.

They provide a nice list, but it is not up to date. For example, I know that St. Antony Padua in San Antonio Florida (Diocese of St. Petersburg) has the TLM twice a week (at least) and they are not listed.

do you know when this was published??? One church on here the Parish has been renamed. I only live about 20 minutes from that particular church.

Any site that lists Masses is only as good as the info given to them. If something changes in a parish and the info provided isn’t updated, then the site has no way of knowing.

Right there on the site,
