A year ago I visited the Basilica of St.Anthony of Padua/Lisbon in Padua/Padova,Italy.It’s so magnificent in and out.The tomb of St.Anthony is placed next to the main altar and venerated daily also the reliquary is full of the remainings of this Saint,e.g.,his wooden casket/coffin,his tunic, his jaw,his paperworks. The best-known is his incorruptible tongue.I wish I could kiss his tongue!I prayed in front of his tomb, touched it and kissed it.I was so overwhelmed that I wept. How great this Saint was and I love him!
One of the paintings was the real picture of the Saint, but I couldn’t see it clearly.
I promised to St.Anthony to go back to Padua and I’ll definitely go back there. He’s granted some of my prayer requests too and his name will be always praised.

What an incredibly beautiful, holy place! I was there in June for his feast day and was blown away!

The basilica has changed a bit since you were there, though. They have moved his body to another part of the basilica. It is now a stand-alone shrine inside the basilica. There is a place in the cloisters next to the gift shop that documents the moving of his remains.

Peace

Tim
