Ok, so I just had the strangest thing ever happen to me…I was out walking my dog and I look down on the ground and there is this shiny medal, it had strange letters on it and symbols. I had no idea if it was good or evil?! So, I had to go home get my magnifying glass and google the info. Come to find out I think it’s a medal of St. Benedict. Its about an 1 1/2 inches wide. The only difference I see about my medal and the one on wikipedia is my medal doesnt seem to have the cup of st benedict to his side at the bottom, it looks like a serpent? two heads? i cant even tell. Anyways, im a bit spooked as it says this medal is often used for laymen to ward off evil, or personal exorcisms, the medal says something about having a happy death…soo umm, if anyone understands what this medal means please do share. Im a bit spooked that I found it and im still not sure if I should keep it in the house. I said last night during my rosary that God gives us little signs along the way if we are following our path, but I mean what kind of a sign is this?! Seems a bit spoookie dookie 😉 Thanks guys, I know someone on this forum knows something about it! 😉

There is nothing “spooky” about the Saints.
 
A Benedictine Abbess gave me three St Benedict medals some years back when all sorts of evil seemed to be plaguing the families at my school.

I wear one, keep one over the front door of my home, and usually keep one (the smallest) in my classroom. The Saint Benedict medal is a sacramental with a powerful history – through his intercession, God has provided protection from evil for His children throughout the centuries. 👍

I gave blessed medals to my extended family to place over their entry doors and bedrooms. I also recently replaced a worn out vinyl Star Trek emblem that was on my vans rear window with a vinyl St Benedict medal emblem! Can’t hurt…

Yes an Original series, although probably a knockoff. It started looking a little sun damaged and I found the St. Benedict medal in vinyl on eBay. It looks great, and I can spot my van across the parking lot. I am so glad for it. Don’t get me wrong I liked the Star Trek one, but I needed a new emblem.
 
I’d like to wear mine around my neck but worry it might damage my scapular and might become rusty.

When I slept in at work I dug a little hole in the earth by the front door and buried one there, I also have one in the gap between my front door and where the tiling ends at home.

When I get to work at the front door I pray the words on the medal.
