Where can I find one cheap? I don’t really have the funds to be spending like $30 on just a medal.

I have a small one on my Scapular, but I would like to put that one somewhere else and wear one independently around my neck. Thanks!
 
What is ‘St. Benedict’s Medal of exorcism’ in the first place?

Last night my sister told me a woman approached her on the street and handed her a ‘St Benedict’s Medal’. The woman told her to wear it and promised my sister’s life would change.
My sister told me she never met the woman before.
My sister is not a believer, ando does not go to Church, but she felt curious about the whole thing. She showed me the Medal. On one side it has a cross, and on the other side the image of a monk. It also has something written on it but I could not figure out what it said.:hmmm:

The Jubilee Medal of St. Benedict is a sacramental of the Church. Favors obtained through its devout use must be ascribed to the merits of Christ, ther merits of St. Benedict, the blessing of the Church, and the faith of the one using it.

Latin inscriptions, front: May his presence protect us in the hour of death.

Reverse: CSPB, Cross of the holy father Benedict. Letters signify: May the holy cross be my light; let not the dragon be my guide:. Margin: Be gone, Satan! Suggest not vain things. The cup you offer me is evil. Drink your own poison."

There is a special blessing that the priest must do on this medal, and it’s an exorcism blessing.
 
you cannot buy the medal with a blessing, but any priest can bless it after you buy it, inexpensive ones of nickel or copper are sold in most religious catalogs for under a dollar. you only need one, it can be on your person, or nearby in pocket, purse or car. the exorcism is part of the blessing that is proper to this medal.
 
I had 2 St Benedicts cruxifixes which went missing. 😦 They had the image above on the back and Jesus on the front. They were silver and black in color and I was told that they are the kind used in exorcisms and are powerful sacramentals. Mine where small but you can get them in all different sizes. I bought one of mine from the daughters of St. Paul bookstore and it cost me $5. The other one was given to me by a good spiritual catholic friend. Both of them were blessed by a catholic priest.
 
Yay! I found the one I lost. Now I don’t need to buy one!

I wear the exact one. I never take it off. It was also recommended to me in the confessional as I wore it. Very confirming. Tim
 
I’ve heard that some people have their pets wear St. Benedict Medals.

If you had your pet blessed at the blessing of the animals each year and had them wear a small St. Benedict Medal would it be a good thing?

I don’t see why it would be a bad thing. My little Precious Mary does not go outside, she is an inside Queen, she does not wear a collar. We sell pet medals in our stores, but they usually have St. Francis of Assissi on them. 🙂
 
I would say go for it. My host family while I exchanged in Costa Rica had a horse and above the door of the stable they had a St. Benedict’s medal nailed into the wood. I thought that was really neat that they cared so much for their pet that they would put a physical prayer for protection where it lived!
 
I’m very curious about this medal. I have never heard of it either.
What is the story around it and what is it specially for?
 
St Benedict of Narsia, was a very very holy man. He had the gift of mircales. He died standing up in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. I’d recommend anyone who has the medal to read his biography. It’s truely amazing. He fought the devil on numerous occassions and always won.
 
I have a crucifix with the medal in it. Strange things happened to it, but what it is most important is that they reminded me that God will never abandon me. I may forget about him, but He will always be there for me.
